Overview

After recently graduating from college Pamela Graham, heir to the Graham publishing empire, sets off to fulfill a humanitarian goal of volunteering at a Russian orphanage. When Pamela impulsively takes one of the children out of the country to avoid an otherwise grim future, she inadvertently sets in motion a series of dark events. While evading the Russian authorities by flying to Spain, she meets a biologist from Maryland who reveals a sinister American government conspiracy. This knowledge takes her on a time-sensitive race to survive long enough to expose the truth before the clock runs out for a vast number of unsuspecting victims. A gripping saga of covert government action, classism, and modern espionage, Hard Whispers runs at full speed with a spellbinding intensity that dances on the edge of reality.

Hard Whispers is a page turner that will not let you put it down. The characters are gripping and the espionage is very real. I hope there is another one coming soon from Pamela Martin and Carl Henegan.

I love political thrillers because they make one think about how corrupt the government really is. Most PT's I read do cover topics that are as close to real as I can imagine. This novel delivered the same reaction. Wow what a ride. Highly recommend and hope there is another one coming from Martin Henegan soon.

I really enjoyed this book, the characters are fun and the plot is something that should be a movie.  I read one of the review on here that stated Dan Brown took this story and wrote Inferno.  Quite frankly Inferno is definitely a  mirror image of Ms. Martin's book that came out 2 years prior to Inferno.  As and avid reader of conspiracy I would say that Ms. Martin beat Brown to the punch but didn't have the press publisher backing to make it to the best seller list before Brown stole her story and put in into a Dante's Inferno spin. Alas, it is what it is and we can hopefully expect more where this came from.  I liked the book.

These authors packed a lot into a small space. When you finish reading, it feels like a 400-page novel, not 228 pages. It is edge-of-your-seat reading: don't begin at bedtime! While some may question the plausibility of the main plot, my outlook is that desperate people do desperate things - and we are in desperate times. It certainly was chilling, and something that had crossed my mind on occasion, though not in that particular method (no spoiler). This would make a great movie.

Just Too Sloppy! The writing seemed amateur at best and the ammount of typos made it even harder for me to get through this story. The concept seemed very interesting and I usually enjoy these types of stories but it didn't exactly translate, a waste of money in my opinion.

AWFUL!!!! She can't write and obviously doesn't know how to spell. There's so many typos. If you buy this, then you' re wasting your money. i regret reading it.

Absolutely awful. I couldn't even finish because of all the typos. Looks like a 3-year-old wrote it. Huge waste of money. Makes a better paperweight. Readers be warned.

Very amateur writing. Don't waste your money.

I am curious about how many of these ratings are either author or country club members influenced by the author. If she wants the public to take her seriously as a writer she may think twice about the image put forth on television.
