You must read this. It only takes about 45 minutes and leaves a lasting impression. The love and compassion mixed with horror and sacrifice is enticing. Excellent read, totally worth the $2.

It's an insightful book to the Forest of the Hands and Teeth. It gives more details about the first book but doesnt have any context for first time readers. If you liked the first book and want to learn more about the village's history then it is worth your two dollars.

let me just first say I loved her other novels. I read each one in one day. There are times where dialogue would have been nice but instead it was just lacking emotion. It was lacking everything. I understand that is how Tabitha was in the first book but I felt like this was just slapped together with no real intent on it.

What in the world this book was only 27 pages and the ending was horriable. I love this author and her other three books, but this one was a disapontment.

Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged. This short addition to the Forest of Hands and Teeth series gives readers a glimpse into the background and psychology of Tabitha. Those of you who have read The Forest of Hands and Teeth will recognize Sister Tabitha as the strict, scary, maybe even a little crazy head of the Sisterhood that tries to stifle Mary’s love and curiosity. Hare Moon delves into the past, when Tabitha is a young, curious teenager herself. When she meets a boy on the path into the forest, she learns that what she once knew was not entirely true, and learns the meaning of sacrifice to those in her village. Being a short story, Hare Moon is indeed short and leaves the reader wanting a bit more. However, I think it stands as a valuable addition to the series. You can read it first if you haven’t read The Forest of Hands and Teeth, or you can read it after the entire series like I did. I would recommend it to those who were curious about why Sister Tabitha acted the way she did.

It gives a lot more information about Sister Tabitha and how she realted to Mary at her age. It leaves a long lasting memory not only of the shocking ending but of.............. not going to tell you because you will know when you read it.
