It's a little ironic that Mase, who made his reputation as a guest rapper on records by Puff Daddy and the Notorious B.I.G., almost seems like a guest himself on his debut album, Harlem World. Like many big-budget hip-hop records, Harlem World is nearly a various-artists collection, featuring an array of different producers and guest rappers that often obscure Mase himself. Still, all that talent guarantees that the record will be well crafted, and that certainly is true. With Sean "Puffy" Combs and Jermaine Dupri behind the decks for much of the album, Harlem World has a dense, funky sound that is up-tempo party rap at its best. Like any late-'90s hip-hop record, it's a little too long for its own good, but the singles, such as the bouncy "Feel So Good," make it worthwhile. It still would have been nice to hear more of Mase on his own album, though.

    this album is tight!

i ain't even gonna lie-when this cd came out, it was constantlly in my cd player! i really enjoyed this cd. everyone talked about him because he raps slow or whatever-but i think he came correct with this cd. i really enjoyed the guest appearances and the lyrical content in this album. i suggest anyone skeptical about this album to take a listen-*really* listen to it. i do think that this is a respectable album. i'm sad that he's not rapping anymore but i do respect the decision that he chose.

    Harlem World baby!!!!!!!

Harem World is a great CD because of the quality of Rap music that the artist Mase delivers. Mase's lyrical skills are second to none, and with some great rap and R and B beats you can't go wrong!!!!!! Harlem World is filled with the clever wit of Mase, telling about what he knows, Harlem World

WHY DID THIZ GUY EVER PICK UP A MICROPHONE?

I remember when my brother bought thiz CD a few yearz back when it waz first released. I just laffed and shook my head. Thiz album iz WACK. I never liked Ma$e nor hiz muzic but I am not a playahata, so I will give it up to a person if they do have real talent (which he doez not) no matter if I like them or not. Hiz beatz are weak and hiz voice iz very slooooowwww and it soundz like he haz down syndrome. I gave thiz CD a fair listen and it still did'nt help.
