Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
Harmony Lancaster, code-named Death, is the perfect assassin and the main character in Lora Leigh's sizzling new erotic paranormal. A Breed (part human, part animal), Harmony has come back to the U.S. to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a wealthy industrialist, and now she's supposed to toe the good-girl line for six months. Except for two things. First: Her brother, Jonas, head of the Bureau of Breed Affairs, has men tracking her. Second: Her hot one-night stand with the local sheriff, Lance, promises to last much longer. As it turns out, the sexual encounter triggers a fierce state of sexual arousal, one that can only be sated by more sex. This turns the fiercely independent Harmony into a vulnerable, needy woman -- bad timing, since her brother thinks she killed their mother, dead bodies keep on turning up with Harmony as the suspected murderer, and there's another big secret she's keeping from her brother. As in her previous book, Megan's Mark, Leigh delivers nonstop action, nearly nonstop sex, and an alpha heroine to beat all. Megan herself makes a few welcome appearances throughout the book. A terrific heated romantic science fiction tale

In the near future, Harmony Lancaster was born in a genetics lab as a lion breed (mix of lion DNA into human DNA). She was bred and trained to kill. However, her pride in herself leads to her escaping from the breeder ¿prison¿ she also took valuable information as a bargaining chip and to learn more about the experiments. This trained killer plans to kill members of the Genetics Council and the scientists who abet their efforts to use and abuse breeds of all ages.----------------------- Head of the Breed Council, her breed sibling Jonas worries about Harmony as many of their supporters want her vigilante justice stopped even if it means killing her to do so. He catches her, but she refuses to hand over the information she has on the First Leo. Jonas takes her to Broken Butte, New Mexico where he has friends he can trust especially her biological mate Sheriff Lance Jacobs. Though irate and roaring like a lioness, Harmony is also attracted to the lawman who has vowed to keep his beloved safe as several groups including a fire and brimstone anti breed preacher converge on the small town to take away the information on the First Lion information dead or alive preferably the former.---------------- HARMONY¿S WAY is a terrific heated romantic science fiction tale that makes readers believe in the genetic engineering as described by Lora Leigh in this tale and in MEGAN¿S MARK. Harmony is a fabulous unique lead character as she believes justice can only be served for her breed and the other breeds by first strike killing of those who treat them as abused animals or abominations. Fans will empathize with her, but question her vigilante tactics as does the love of her life Lance. Readers will appreciate the diversity and fighting factions that make up the Leigh universe as danger from multiple sides converge on this small New Mexico town.---------- Harriet Klausner

    Disapointing!!!

I LOVED Megan's Mark, so when I bought the sequel I was so excited, but I hated it. I felt that the characters had no depth the story was boring and didn't really go anywhere. The characters were the biggest disappointment for me Harmony & Lance were basically just stick figures who had sex every ten minutes.

    Beyond bad

I think part of my brain actually died off while I tried to read this. Horrible, even for Lora Leigh.

    I Also Recommend:

    Lora Leigh the greatest

I got hooked on Lora Leigh only a few months ago and now I have to read everything she puts out there. I picked it up and started reading it and couldn't put it down I just had to know what was going to happen next. Jonas is Harmony's brother and it seems to be that he has set a trap for his sister to fail at her mission tha will get her exhonerated by breed law. Harmony is very stubborn and thinks she can last six months living with the sexy sheriff in town. You never really knew if Harmony was going to except Lance into her life or was she going to run from him just like she has alway ran, she has been running from everything since she was fifteen. You never really know what Dane is up to, he seems to just be lurking in the shadows always watching Harmony. You have to read the entire book to the very end before you know why Dane won't let go. It was an absolute thrill ride! I actually read it twice now and it still makes me cry.

Not her best, but lovable anyway

A little different in the Breeds series is that the female character in this book is the breed. While the plot is somewhat convoluted, the characters, particularly Harmony/Death, is touching to read about.

    I Loved It!

This was my first book of hers, accidentally discovered on the sale rack. Boy, don't I feel lucky for finding it. I could not put it down. I read it in 4 hours. I have since then been unable to read anything but her stuff. She is an exceptional writer. She speaks to all of us who have hungered for more than Harlequin.

    A reviewer

In true Lora Leigh fashion this book was HOT. However, the story was lacking and confusing. Much of it just didn't make sense...it's the kind of book you have to read more than once to understand it, and frankly, it's not good enough to read more than once. This was my first disappointment when it comes to Leigh.

    Book #2 in this Series

The first book is Megan's Mark and it was just as good as this one! If you enjoy a paranormal romance and steamy sex (without going overboard, which this author tends to do in some of her books), you will like this series.

    An explosive sizzler

What a great writer. I loved her captivating characters, and enjoyed the soul connection between them. The whole novel is strong, and the erotic scenes scorchingly sexy.
