Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
There are plenty of books available that present the concept of opposites. This one features a familiar character, Harold of Harold and the Purple Crayon fame. There are no opposites that are not normally found in other books. It starts with size and moves on to feelings, speed, location and more. The part that is a little different is that Harold appears in each scene and he is what is measured against or featured—flying high in the clouds or landing on the ground where he is low. The concluding pages follow the normal end of Harold's adventures. He heads on home under a crescent moon and goes to bed. Once awake, Harold is now asleep in this board book adventure. 2004, HarperCollins, Ages 2 to 4.
