Essentially, I would like very much to purchase these books through Barnes and Noble; i read a few of them as paperbacks and enjoyed them very much. i do most of my reading on Nook and would like to own and read them in that format. As it was, I was redirected to to a 3rd party site, inputted some CC info, found the payment declined due to my bank's no recognizing the site as secure (they are typically EXCELLENT at protecting internet security) and 30 minutes later had a phone call from my bank regarding a "potentially unauthorized transaction attempt" in the UK. Had i not been home at that time to take the call my ATM card would have been locked. I will happily order these when they become available directly from Barnes and Noble. Until then, nope, not worth the hassle.

A series made for everyone 7 and up, the series is fantastic for helping younger readers build their vocabulary (seeing as the characters use a wider vocabulary as they get older themselves), and learn important life lessons.

The series is more than a vocabulary fun fest, though. The characters argue, they suffer from jealousy and anger, they cry. They have a realiztic relationship with one another, and they learn from their arguments what is important, and that's having and keeping each other. The stories have good morals, and endings that are reached realistically (considering that they are wizards, of course).

Rowling certainly shows that life can have happy endings, but at a cost. I think this rings true for most people ... That we have to lose some people along the way. That we can't have the people with us here and now, but we can still keep them in our hearts to help us move forward. That's an important thing that some people forget.

Despite the lose, the characters learn to overcome and do what they feel is the right thing. Yes, they may make mistakes, but so does everyone else, their world or ours.

The writing style helps to get through the books quickly, but maybe too quickly. I've found myself rereading and not remembering some parts. Maybe I was too excited, but it seems better the second time around.

Overall, this is a great series for anyone, young, old, or somewhere in the middle. I highly recommend it for someone who likes adventure, fantasy with a little bit of mystery and romance thrown in. A healthy combination for any reader.

While I love the book series, I don't care for the hoops I have to jump through to purchase them. Based on need to set up a Pottermoore account, I have decided against making the purchase. It's too much of a pain. Sorry B&N and JK Rowling... you've missed out on $60.00 in digital purchases.

The Harry Potter Paperback set is definitely a must read. I have enjoyed reading all the books from start to finish.

I believe that anyone at any age will enjoy this set. I ended up reading them again and again. Plus, the movies are totally amazing as well!

The 7 books are available in paperback for less money than the eBook version, why is that right? There is nothing in the eBook format that justifies it costing MORE than the physical medium, after all there's no paper, ink, printing costs, etc. So, why is it about $7 more?

I accidentally stumbled upon the Harry Potter movies one day while sick and watching television. I turned it on after the show I was watching went to commercial. I was unable to return to my previous program because I became so engrossed in the story. At this point I had not read any of the books and, though I was able to follow what was going on, I was somewhat confused. After watching the most recent movie, I decided it was time to finally read the books. I have been unable to put them down since. They are extremely easy to read and even more engaging than the movies. They are also very beneficial in clearing up some of the more confusing aspects of the movies. The first three follow the movies pretty closely but after that, there are many deviations which keep it interesting. I highly recommend these books. The writing lives up to hype and provide a great way to spend a rainy afternoon!

In my opinion J.K Rowlings Harry Potter series was a brilliant work of literature. Every Harry Potter book that i have read captured my attention, J.K Rowling did such a great job of absorbing the reader to read more. By the end of the first two books i was craving to read the rest. I finished the last two books in literally 8 days. J.K Rowling has a very imaginative mind, she has ideas in her books that people would never have thought of. Her amazing vocabulary usage, and unbelievable cliff-hanging ability leads many of her books to great eminence. J.K Rowlings Harry Potter books have to be the most extravagant works of literature that i have laid my hands on. Till this day i still wait for the rest of the Harry Potter Movies to come out so i can compare them to the books. I am giving J.K Rowlings Harry Potter series 5 stars.

I love the books, but it's stupid to have to buy them from pottermore.

So glad the books are finally available but I hate the pottermore site, such a pain in the butt. It took like 10 steps just to get the books on my ipad.

The first book came out when I was in the second grade and ever since I've been hooked. I've pre-ordered over half the books and seen every movie except one the day it was released. This series grabs you from the very beginning and keeps pulling you along till the very end. The characters are believable, the good guys lovable, and the villians absolutely dreadful. Rowling's writing wraps you up in the emotion and action of the story and makes your heart beat and tears come to your eyes. This is the only series of books and Rowling is the only author that has every made me cry. The Harry Potter books were my first all-time favorites and they will always be some of my favorites. I recommend everyone to read these books because they have something for everyone: fantasy and magic, action and adventure, duels, monsters, romance, struggles both inside and out, and laughter. These books are truly amazing and must reads.

I guess that almost everyone loves this series, so my loving it is nothing special, but I really was obssessed with it. These books were THE BEST - with action, suspense, and humor. But I think what made this series truly magical for me was how real it all seemed, the characters, their feelings, their actions, even the magical world they lived in.

I was skeptical. But a few years ago these books sparked my love affair with reading. Everything about them the thrill, the suspense, the friendship, the lessons, and well you get my drift. The books definitely pull you in and absorb you into this world that can't possibly exist. J.K. Rowling keeps her character so alive and with each book comes a new story. Unlike other series which seem repetitive and barely vary. With the stories came growth withing them and it was like I transitioned with them as well. From middle school to high school. I even know adults who love these books and well I love them.

Was thinking of purchasing but they won't tell you how much it costs, (first red flag). Then it tried ro take me to another site that I don't know if it is secure (second red flag). Third my Nook color could not load the page, first said it was not there then gave some certificate issues, that was the last straw. My husbands Nook HD+ was finally able to get the apge after 3 tries but it locked up his Nook and he had to shut it down. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TRY THIS PURCHASE BECAUSE IT JUST DOESN'T SEEM RIGHT! NOT LIKE B&N AT ALL? BN, if this is legit, why are you sending us somewhere else? Are you not a mega bookseller?

Was so excited when I found the author finally agreed to make the Harry Potter books available in e format. But after finding out I would be redirected to Potterville just to buy, couldnt use my gift card, personal major credit card required, and would have to agree to a bunch of this and that, But the biggest deal breaker was learning she keeps electronic tabs on every set sold by hidden incription. Meaning if the books were to be shared, the buyer could get sued. This convinced me not to buy her electronic books. Pretty sad.

I'm a huge harry potter fan, read all the books and i loved them. My only problem is you dont know how much you are paying, and to me its a big risk, a red flag warning saying not to buy straight from your heart, and your integrity sancified inner consequence. I rather not blow my money, saving is the best thing and a good thing. The books are 57.54 dollars, and i've paid way less around 10 dollars. You can always find harry potter books at thrift stores, so whats the point in buying them if you are going to pay more. Save your money please, its not worth it and knowing its a big chance of buying it, a good opportunity their are going to be complications or issues trying to read it. Even though its tempting to buy, in your inner soul and your integrity you know it wont be right and waiting is the best thing even though you despretly want it badly, but it can wait because its not nearly as important to worry about or depriving your moral qualities. Take it from me, just listen to your gut and believe in your actions. Be proud of what you got and dont take anything for granted.

Love the books but hate that the ebooks aren't available through B&N they redirect you to the potter site to purchase. Sucks when you have a gift card to use...

The box set is so much fun, my husband and I are both Harry Potter fans and we decided to buy the box set. It's not only a good place to keep the books, but it's cute the have on our book shelf.

We had owned these books in paperback, but when my 3rd grade son was starting to read them for school, I decided that I would get him hardbacks with the case. He displays it and loves that his books have there own box. I love these books and now that I share the passion of reading with my son, I think no book is too much when it gets my child to read and enjoy it. He has read the first 2 books and is know on book 3. These are 6-7th grade reading level so for him to read and take tests on them I am very proud that he enjoys this. He will read 3 and 4 over the summer and I know if you were to buy them you would love them too.

There is nothing left to say about the books themselves since their popularity even years after their publication has hardly diminished. The books are timeless. I started reading book 1 when I was twelve. I am STILL hooked. My parents have read them and I know several grandparents who have too. Anyone can enjoy these AMAZING books. I bought the trunk because it looked so adorable. I LOVE IT! The books aren't so tightly packed inside the trunk that you have to flip the box to get one out. They aren't too spaced out either but it's enough to semi-grip a book. It is also cheaper to buy the trunk than to buy all the books individually. I got the trunk for about as much as it would cost me to get books 1-5 The little lock it has in front is a bit frustrating to open, but I won't pass judgment on the yet since I got my nails done and they don't fall off. UPS took good care of it. It arrived in great condition. The trunk was in a huge box so that it didn't get scratched or beaten. That was one of my concerns before ordering it. I didn't want the trunk to get damaged but it came in a box. I recommend this trunk to everyone :)

For anyone who hasn't read the series and has just watched the movies, the books are a MUST! The movies are awesome as well but they leave little details out. Rowling does a fantastic job weaving the various subplots into a very intricately written story. Every book from 1 to 7 ties in all the stories into one. For people who think that it is hard to understand the vernacular created from this series, obviously hasn't read the books from the start because all terminology is explained throughout the series. Absolutely one of my FAVORITE series of all time.
