    A very enjoyable book

    This book had it all--danger, romance, conflict, fun moments, and epiphanies. The story is about a young doctor fresh from medical school who comes to work with an older doctor that is slowly losing his sight. The old doctor has a daughter named Abby who helps him with the medical practice and is a local midwife in her own right. Dr Pagett and Abby are attracted to each other almost immediately. And Dr Pagett quickly earns the love of the xommunity through a heroic act during a rragic accident. With all of that there is this conflict in the community. The wealthiest man in town doesnt like it when Pagett interferes during an accident in the man's factory due to poor working conditions and negligence on the owners behalf which endangers the workers. He quickly makes an enemy. And people in the town are afraid of the man and his power over them to help him durring a crisis in the poor part of town. This conflict was never brought to a satisfying conclusion however which is the one thing that left me a little unsatisfied. Meanwhile Abby is quickly falling in love with Pagett but feels inadequate because they come from very diferent backgrounds-- he is from a very wealthy family-- but social class means nothing to him. Also there is the large matter of faith... overall I really liked this book.
    I highly recommend it.
