Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Meredith Kiger
Number two in the "Wishbone Mysteries" series, this story finds Wishbone and his master, Joe, deep in a neighborhood whodunit, only this time they are looking for a ghost. Joe wins a local contest for ownership of an old clubhouse. The competition was fierce, and there are a few jealous losers among the kids in the neighborhood. Strange things begin to happen even before the clubhouse is delivered to Joe's home. In fact, attempts to try and deliver it fail. Spurred by Agatha Christie novels recently found in his attic, Joe intends to solve the mystery of the "ghost" who continues to sabotage the gatherings in the clubhouse. Of course, Wishbone is right out in front of the action with his characteristic feisty personality and comments to match. Is the clubhouse haunted, or is there an obvious explanation? Kids will enjoy the lively dialogue and building suspense throughout the sixteen chapters. Accompanied by black and white drawings, the story is bound to inspire further reading of books in the "Wishbone Mysteries" series.
