Meet the Author

Since 1991, this experienced duo have written and published the Michigan Vacation Guide book series. This book was placed on the Secretary of State’s “Read Michigan” list in 1995 and continues to serve as Michigan’s most comprehensive publication on unique places to stay in Michigan.
Kat and Bev have been featured on several radio talk shows and PBS TV’s “Michigan Magazine.” They were also guest speakers at the “Michigan’s Haunting Experience” paranormal conference and other public venues.
Since the Michigan Vacation Guide’s inception, the authors have traveled thousands of miles across Michigan exploring every region of the state. From the most remote areas of the Upper Peninsula to major urban communities, they have visited many of Michigan’s most historical locations.
In their travels, they were surprised at the number of stories they heard from people who had firsthand experience with ghosts and hauntings. Their stories were so captivating it inspired the writers to learn more. Were their encounters just fanciful imaginations, urban legends, or fact?
Kat and Bev went on a journey to find the truth. That is what the Haunted Travels of Michigan book is all about. This is their first book in the Haunted Travels series.

Read an Excerpt

Preface
These stories have been written in the first person to bring the reader into an investigation on a more personal level. Each story, however, has been a joint writing effort between the authors.
The authors’ second book continues to break through the myths and legends to find the truth. Join them on their ghost hunts as they share firsthand accounts of the investigation and haunted history of each location, always with a skeptic’s eye.
History plays an important part of each investigation. If past events or people can be tied in with the evidence collected, it makes the experience that much more rewarding. History tends to validate what is collected during an investigation.
The authors’ experiences will sometimes be funny, sometimes thought-provoking and sometimes chilling. The stories and evidence revealed in this book and Web site will be true, unaltered and accurate. You’ll see it and hear it just as we did (audio adjustments may be made for clarity). Ultimately, whether or not a location is haunted will be your decision.
Enjoy this book by itself or online for a complete interactive book/Web experience. You will be able to hear the electronic voice phenomenon (EVP), see up-close the unusual photographic and video evidence, listen to behind-the-scene activities, interviews and more as you follow along in the book.
The journey into the unknown continues.

    Best Book Ever

I would like to tell everyone that these two books that Kathleen and her sister Beverlee wrote are both the two best books I have read. Kathleen and Beverlee both not only tell you the paranormal investigation, but also the history behind what happens. You learn so much from reading these two books. They have such much to information and history to share and when you buy these books they are also connected to the internet so you can view the pictures of the investigations. You are able to go to a lot of the sites in Michigan where they went. They are open to the public, which I just think is amazing. I just find these two ladies so amazing that they are willing to share their passion and experiences with all of us.
