Seven years ago her mother died in a car accident, but the body was never found; her grave site in Ireland empty. Seeking closure Shealy O'Leary wants to come from Phoenix to visit the grave site though her father has a fit insisting it is unsafe for her to return to Ireland. As they argue, a man attacks her and her father. Almost immediately after a giant and a teen boy suddenly appear and her father vanishes. The arcane Book of Fennore sent Shealy O'Leary and her father into an ancient mystical land. Fennore is a cursed place unsafe for either O'Leary. Separated, she must learn to use her innate sacred force that remained dormant until now in order to save her father from the likes of The Druid who wants to possess her power. She finds an ally in Tianan the Warrior as his enemy the Druid who cursed him is hers though his companion has doubts about her. Having failed his people, he sees the beautiful frightened female from the future as a chance to regain his honor if she believes in herself and her power. Neither expected love to come before trust. The latest Haunting romantic fantasy (see Haunting Beauty and Haunting Warrior) is a wonderful tale that hooks readers from the onset as Shealy knows this isn't Arizona anymore. Although the lead coupling of a contemporary and an ancient Celtic has been used before including this series, sub-genre fans will enjoy visiting Fennore as Erin Quinn provides a fast-paced time travel tale. I've enjoyed all of Erin Quinn's Haunting books (Mists of Ireland series) and this one doesn't disappoint. Quinn has such an evocative beautiful style that I'm willing to go anywhere she takes me. HAUNTING DESIRE moves into a realm that is a bit more fantasy than her other novels but Quinn keeps the Irish lore and sensibility that drew me to her series in the first place. I love the chemistry between the main characters, Sheely & Tiarnan. But Tiarnan, especially, is an amazing hero. Flawed and full of self-contempt for his failings and yet strong and sensitive and loyal, he is such an interesting and well-written character. Brought from modern Arizona into the mystical world of the Book of Fennore, the story is both a search for truth, a fight for a future and a tale of redemption. It totally satisfied my love of romance, paranormal and a little bit of mystery.

What can I say about this series that I stumbled into. 1st I read book 1 and 2 out of order. 2nd, with each book you are pulled so deep into the story you fall absolutely in love with it more. I'm sure with the final book, this series will be a favorite of mine and already is. How can it not be with great myths and legends brought to life with such clarity and fabulous visual descriptions and details you feel like you are right there with them. Not to mention gorgeous, hunky, sexy, warrior men!! The author truly shows great creativity and passion in this wirting she takes story telling to a new level. You really can't go wrong with this series its got everything you could want in a fantasy story.
