Barnes & Noble - Lisa Zhito
The infectious pop-rock of FFH remains as solid as ever on Have I Ever Told You, the group's third release for Essential Records and its most hit-laden effort to date. Yet FFH have long been distinguished by their edgy pop, which finds a happy middle between the gloss of Avalon and the grit of Sixpence None the Richer. Have I Ever Told You shows us the group's many moods: there's the peppy opening tracks "Watching Over Me" and "Fly Away," and the deeply worshipful "We Sing Alleluia" and plaintive "Before It Was Said." The infectious pop-rock of FFH remains as solid as ever on Have I Ever Told You, the group's third release for Essential Records and its most hit-laden effort to date. Once an a cappella group, the three-man, one-woman FFH have retained the tight harmonies that inevitably come from such a musical background. Have I Ever Told You shows us the group's many moods: there's the peppy opening tracks "Watching Over Me" and "Fly Away," and the deeply worshipful "We Sing Alleluia" and plaintive "Before It Was Said." The group even gets just plain silly, as on the song "Astronaut," which boasts the forgettable chorus, "I don't know that much about astronauts, but I know that Jesus cares an awful lot...". But there's a lot of meat, and there's just enough sass, to this harmonic pop to keep things interesting. Start spreading the word.
All Music Guide - Ashleigh Kittle
The vocal foursome FFH debuted in 1998 with their project I Want to Be Like You. Building on the musical foundation of this and their 2000 album, Found a Place, Have I Ever Told You combines strong vocal harmonies with upbeat and rhythmic pop/adult contemporary arrangements. A 2001 Essential Records release, the project marks another chapter in the lives of members Jeromy and Jennifer Deibler, Brian Smith, and Steve Croyle. In listening to Have I Ever Told You, it may be difficult to discern what sets this release apart from previous FFH efforts. However, while it may sound very similar to its predecessors, the project offers a finer-tuned musical style, tighter harmonies, and intriguing subject matter. Notable songs include the title track, which was inspired by a conversation Jeromy Deibler had with his father regarding his parents' divorce, and "On My Cross," a beautifully written song of gratitude for the sacrifice made at Calvary.

    Classic FFH

If you like FFH, then this album is more of the same. The songs are well written, honest and technically well mixed. I appreciate the fact that the band has not lost its focus on God and Jesus as their fame has exponentially increased. They're still just the same set of people following God in the midst of the human condition.
