An oft-avoided subject, this guide to pursuing assisted reproductive therapies (ARTs) is meant to address the "biggest hurdle" in Margolis's own story, "the lack of readily available information and resources" that leaves couples facing the emotional and practical challenges of infertility with little support. Wow...disillusioned

After struggling with infertility for years and frankly being older than the average mom, I found two things disconcerting about this book. 1. She never tells you her age (I had to go on line to figure it out) and 2. while online trying to figure out her age I found out she is now divorced from the man she went through all of these struggles with.

I have no idea why the divorce happened, but I can tell you that I picked up this book to find out ways to save my marriage as we go through the pain of failed pregnancy attempts and the insecurities raised by the our failures to have a child. Reading that Cindy and her husband worked through these same issues and came out stronger was inspiring and gave me hope. Finding out that they did not come out stronger and ended up divorcing even after they succeeded in having children just depressed me more than I was before I opened the book. I really wish I had not read this, despite what I am sure are good recommendations on alternatives to having biological children the "normal" way.
