    not worth it.

This book was basically a journal of their trip to Hawaii. No offense, but they did the most "touristy" things possible and did not impart anything worth reading. I have been there three times myself and can give you better details, things to do, and better pictures than were included here! Also many typing errors. Don't waste the time or money.

    Hawaii

After living there three years and having family and friends coming to visit I knew all the great locations to go to and the tourist traps. 25 YEARS later we took a cruise of the islands and took family members to those places that arent your typical spots. Maybe I should write my own book and how the area has changed and grown not necessarily for better. If you really want to experience Aloha spirit then learn the not so typical spots of the islands to enjoy and learn the laid back customs of the islander locals. My oldest was born there 30 years this coming christmas. I am not saying dont visit the local tourist traps, but learn the history and customs can certainly make your Aloha experience enjoyable. After going back 25 years later I was amazed I remembered my way around, but also sadden by the loss of sugar cane fields and pinapple fields as well. Maybe I should write my own experience and have others share in my story of my Hawaiian experience. I love the islands and the people were awesome. Study before you go, you might find some out of the way experiences that will last you a lifetime of memories... Mahalo!

Great travel first person book - worth the buy

If you have never been to Hawaii, this is one of those great travel books by the average person. Doesn't hype all the big name touristy places, full of great recommendations. Worth the buy

    more from this reviewer

    Nice travelogue.

This is the story of a trip taken be a couple who traveled to the island of Oahu, Hawaii. They concentrated on the beaches, enjoyed the Ala Moana outdoor mall, saw some statues of famous Hawaiian historical figures, and enjoyed the food and sunshine. They also visited the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor.

It has some photographs, and is quite short.

The couple seemed to have had a good time, and this chronicle of their trip is a useful research tool for others who are planning a trip to that island.
