I looked forward to this book after loving What to Drink with What You Eat by Doerenburg and Page but found He Said Beer, She Said Wine mediocre. I'm sticking with What to Drink which is a great book that lets you look up any food and find the wine or beer that goes best with it. You can also look up any wine or beer and find the food that goes best with it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

He Said Beer, She Said Wine is a delightful book that will serve as a reference for understanding the relationships between wine, beer and food. Written in a light, engaging style, Marnie and Sam guide the reader through the many styles of wine and beer, and provide Rules of Thumb for enhancing any meal with the appropriate beverage. Starting with a discussion on wine and beer, the book provides the reader both reference and guide to paring food with wine and beer. The fun part is encouraging people to host dinner parties during which both wine and beer is served and to have the guests make their own recommendations. Delightful! You will find yourself picking up this book time and time again in your kitchen as you plan meals, parties or just to learn about the different styles of wine and beer. Marnie and Sam have done a masterful job of simplifying what might seem a complex task of selecting the 'right' wines and beer to go with a meal. Reference books are not supposed to be this much fun! He Said Beer, She Said Wine is a 'must have' for anybody interested in cooking and the relationship between wine, beer and food. This is an outstanding book. Was this review helpful?
