The youth was, as Hades recalled, the only brother of the sea nymphs who bore the collective name Nereid. He was clear-skinned, his eyes green as the sea. He was clad only in a loincloth made of seaweed, standing tall and proud and looking every inch a young prince of the gods.

Poseidon noticed his brother's regard. "Nerites," he said, "son of Nereus, my old Titan rival." Poseidon leaned closer, lowering his voice. "And a far sweeter piece than any of his sea nymph sisters."

Hades took another moment to study the young man, who preened as if happy to have attracted his notice.

Poseidon cleared his throat. "Now, normally I don't share. But, after all, these are special circumstances, and you are my beloved brother—"

"Spare me," Hades snapped. "I have no need of your leavings."

"Don't be too quick to dismiss the prospect." Poseidon turned and beckoned the youth over, sliding one long muscular arm around his slim hips. "The wooing of women is a complicated business, as we both well know. Men, on the other hand, are far simpler."

As Hades watched with growing incredulity at his brother's brazen confidence, Poseidon slipped one large hand beneath Nerites's loincloth, right where it ended at the top of Nerites' slim thigh.

"What are you doing?" Hades thundered.

"Demonstrating."

Momentarily shocked into silence, Hades could only stand there and watch as Poseidon caressed Nerites...
