From The CriticsReviewer: Douglas Erik Elliott, M.D.(University of Colorado Health Sciences Center)
Description: This is the fourth edition of a well-known, comprehensive two-volume set on head and neck imaging.
Purpose: As stated by the editors, the purpose is twofold: first, to help readers in the "diagnosis of head and neck imaging cases..." and, second, to serve as a "resource for the knowledge that is necessary to attain a well informed understanding of this fascinating and rewarding field." These objectives are clearly met.
Audience: Intended for radiologists at any stage of their career, this book serves as a powerful tool for any practitioner involved with head and neck cases. Widely recognized as authorities in the field, the editors and contributors have expanded the subject matter at the request of the readers.
Features: Serving primarily as an imaging text, this new edition contains better quality and an increased number of images and atlases. New features include the chapters on ultrasound, swallowing studies, and neural tumor spread. Each chapter is consistent with its dedication to high quality images, readability, and pathology.
Assessment: This book continues to keep in step with the ever changing field of head and neck imaging. Every radiologist should have this within reach to serve as a defining resource.
