    Best novel!

This is a very interesting story. It's captivating and engaging. Once you start reading it, you find it difficult to pause it. You can picture the whole story in your mind's eye as the author described the story very effectively.
Not only that, you get to learn quite a lot of new vocabulary in this novel. I recommend the readers to read it with the help of a dictionary.
This story is so touching and I can't stop thinking about it and the characters in the story even after finished reading it.
I don't really want the novel to end so fast as I really want to read more about Luke, Jeremy, Francesca and Nikki.
This is the best novel I have ever read. Full ratings for all aspects. Thanks Ryan Nerz.

Pretty good but the words get in the way..

This is a pretty decent book and I love the fact that I'm learning some new vocab words along the way. However, the words get in the way of the story, and at some points, I thought to myself, who would actually say/think something like that? But I really like the book, so if you're thinking of buying it, go for it! =]

Adding a Little Zest To a Love Triangle

Francesca Castarelli is captain of the soccer team and is dating the popular Jeremy. Luke Barton, a new kid at school, has all the girls talking. Nikki thinks she might have feelings for Luke, so she signs Francesca up for a tutoring session to get some information about him. Francesca doesn¿t tell Jeremy about the lessons with Luke which causes problems. She starts to think she might like Luke, but Nikki, he best friend, likes Luke too. What will Francesca do, break up with Jeremy to get Luke and hurt Nikki, or will she stay with Jeremy and let Nikki have Luke? I liked that Francesca didn¿t let Jeremy tell her what to do. I liked how Luke didn¿t think much of hanging out with Francesca even if she had a boyfriend, even if Jeremy didn¿t feel the same way. I didn¿t like how the story just ended, I think Ryan Nerz could have made another chapter to the story. I thought that Ryan should have gone into more detail about when Francesca and Jeremy were hanging out, instead of just mentioning when they did. Head Over Heels is a SAT vocabulary book, which makes it a little difficult to understand, but it helps that the definitions to most of the words are at the bottom of the page. Mostly girls age twelve and up would like this book. This author is similar to the author of Kissing Snowflakes. This is not part of a series and is a good romance book that I recommend reading.

    Easier than making flashcards...

This book is a standard teen novel. As such, it's a fun, predictable, light read with cheesy romance. The vocabulary in the book is a bit difficult in accordance with the plot, but the writers did try to be clever in writing it in (part of the story is that the main character, Francesca, is taking SAT vocabulary lessons from a cute tutor in order to set her friend up with him). The vocab word I haven't forgotten: osculate. This book has a few typos. That's depressing.

This book is an amazing and fun way to study.

I study a whole darn lot. I have tried everything, flash cards, wordlists, 'word of the day', repetition. but the most effective way I learned vocabulary is by reading the sparknotes novels. I have learned more words reading this book thann I did trying to memorize a word list or flash cards. (Oh, and to all the people who have a 'word of the day' It works for some words but it did not help me much, flash cards work beeter then that method.) This is definitly one of my favorite books.

    Cheesy, but good

Without all the SAT words this book would be geared to pre-teens, but i actually kind of liked the story. Although, those words seemed to not really fit and were kind of annoying. I mean, what normal high schooler really uses those words in everyday speech or journal-writing? Anyways, I actually learned many new words and will know them if i see them on the SAT

You'll love it, and your Parents will Too!

This book is very enjoyable, especially for girls. It's a cute, romantic, cliche, but awsome page-turner that'll have you reading it a second or third time. The best part? You really learn The SAT words. I learned so many words by associating words to certain characters or scenes in the book. This book really helps you learn the words more than those flash cards ever will! I totally recommend this book to ANYONE who is tired of flipping flashcards trying to learn 1000 words!

    Loved it!

I thought I'd hate this book my mom bought for me, but I read the first chapter, and was hooked. It was a good story, and I have reread it quite a few times. I did learn the vocab, and its easier when you learn the word in context. Easy to remember. I hope they make a sequel, this was a wonderful book!

    An Effective Book

I enjoyed this book greatly. It was an effective way to learn new SAT words. I think it depicts the average social scene of a teenager's life quite well. The only thing I did not enjoy about this book was that it was very predictable.

    Amazing Book!!

i thought the book would be cheesy, but when i read it was o.k. I am in the seventh grade and I won't take my PSAT or SAT in a couple of years. That book helped me prepare.

    I'd rather memorize word lists

This book is really, truly terrible. It was cheesy beyond belief and reading it was extremely painful and a waste of my life. Half of the vocabulary words are incredibly basic - similar to many that I learned in 6th grade. The book is poorly written and the situation is incredibly unrealistic. As a teenager, I am incredibly insulted by the stereotypical images portrayed in this book.

    Cheesey, but affective

Head Over Heels was probably the cheesiest book I have ever read. Yet, it was affective all the same. I learned a lot of new vocab for the SAT and remember it. The plot and characters were highly unbelievable but it was something I didn't have to think about. I could focus on the words I was supposed to be learning.

    A different approach

I am a high school student that has been studying the SAT vocabulary since 2002. lol, so i've had an abundant amount of time to try all the different ways to study for the SAT. My study guides are definitely eclectic, ranging from flashcards, to vocabulary books, to this book. I personally like this book because it's engaging, however the plot and the charters were a bit trite (I did not like Francesca because she's so pompous and self-centered) and it was bothersome to stop reading to look up the word at the bottom of the page. The definitions were also confusing at times. So I recommend that you use this book as a mean to review your vocabulary. Either that or read the book first and then go over the vocabulary later.
