Overview

Americas largest freelance human body parts harvester, Philip Guyett, reveals how he got into the lucrative (and remarkably unregulated) body-parts business and the events that led up to his conviction for three counts of wire fraud.
After relocating his tissue recovery service, "Donor Referral Services" to Raleigh, NC in the Fall of 2004, Guyett found himself over his head in broken promises and FDA regulators. In 2006 Philip Guyett was held responsible for one of the largest FDA human tissue recalls in recent history and earned himself an 8 year federal prison sentence.
Guyett’s tell all book "Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Bone$" is the first book of its kind to be written by an individual who actually harvested and sold human body parts (heads shoulders, knees and bones) and tissue to some of the nations leading medial firms and research facilities.

Meet the Author

Philip Guyett was born and raised in Covina, CA. His career in forensics and tissue recovery began when he trained as a Riverside County Coroner reserve in 1993. By 2004, Guyett had worked as the Director of the Willed Body Program at a southern California medical school, ran a private whole body donation service, was the first non-hospital based establishment to recover research tissue for the Cooperative Human Tissue Network, and started recovering whole bone and skin grafts for transplant purposes at his Las Vegas, NV business.
In December of 2005, Guyett decided to alter some paperwork to rid himself of some donor bodies and close his tissue recovery service, Donor Referrals Services, located in North Carolina. His decision to do so caused one of the FDA’s largest human tissue recalls in recent history. As a result, in 2009 Guyett is now serving an eight year federal prison sentence for three counts of wire fraud.
