    okay

this story was okay but not much of a love story. two of the characters get together in the end but the stupid ex-girlfriend is around too much. I think it's a bad omen when you want one of the characters dead because she's in the way!

    4.5 stars. Review by Kim.

The other reviewer is wrong about the time line - Mike's daughter is 13 in 1999, when Bethany called him to help. The present for the story is 2002, making her 16 that year. They are also wrong about Mike being suspended from The Order for 3 years. He worked for them for 3 years and got fired. Then he had to live on his savings, and we don't know how much that might've been. The book doesn't mention what the paycheck is for Agents.

Had to correct those reading comprehension assumptions before I started my review.

This isn't your typical paranormal romance and that's why I like it. You won't find the over-the-top Macho Alpha Man Hero or the wimpy Too-Stupid-To-Live heroine here.

Where the book starts, Mike is a damaged dude, so his self-esteem is in the pits, yet he's not weak, and I love the journey he takes in this book. And oh-my-goodness, he's such a good dad. His relationship with Hope is wonderful.

Corinne isn't perfect, but she's an amazing healer, both as a doctor and a person. Mike and his family really come together thanks to her coming into their lives. When Mike was poisoned by the demon and hallucinating? So intense. And then when Corinne discovered vampires *are* real from the attack on her and Hope....speaking of Hope, poor kid!

So many moments I could pick out of the book. I can't wait for the next one. I hope there's a next one! The end of this book makes it SO worth a read. Touching, and major hotness! I love stories about the healing of broken characters.

A book about a demon hunter

She narrates the entire book and doesn't describe a single fight scene. The sex scenes are one sided even though she writes from everyones point of view. Never got a real understanding of what was going on with the order. Unrealistic if he was suspended for 3 years for getting the girl pregnant thwn he should have been back on payroll earning pretty good money by the time Hope was 13. The timeline is wrong his daughter starts off 13 and rhen a year later is celebrating her 16th birthday. The story rambled and jump all over the place with the main male coming off as weak. Not recommeded!
