Overview

On a lonely desert road, a woman hears the voice of her dead child calling out to her, but no one is near.

Across the country, a psychic tells a bereaved mother that her child lives, though she believed him to be lost in the wreckage of a car crash many years ago. And one day on a playground, a ten-year-old girl glimpses the image of her deceased twin brother, beckoning to her.

As three grieving families find themselves haunted by the voices of their dead children, they come to learn that their children are not dead, as they believed, but have been taken and hidden away at a remote compound, to be used for a single, lethal purpose.

To find their children and discover the truth, the parents embark on treacherous journeys that will take them to the very heart of evil, where three frightened children are crying out for help. Can they save them before their innocence becomes a weapon for deadly psychic evil?

Editorial Reviews

Rave Reviews
HEAR THE CHILDREN CALLING is a tension-filled tale that pits parents against seemingly unconquerable opponents. Driven by their love for the children, these individuals are determined to face skepticism and even death to find and rescue their missing offspring—children held hostage by a staggering conspiracy that requires a direct physical confrontation to be defeated. An unusual work of eerie power, HEAR THE CHILDREN CALLING is an engrossing horror/thriller that is decidedly different.

This 350 page book reminds me of John Saul's books ( or is it Soul? I have not read him for a long time.) It is about unique kids with special abilities. But unlike Saul's books, none of these children get killed. There is some child abuse, light violence, kidnapping and murder. The murders are pretty graphic, one especially so. No cursing, sex, romance or religion. This book may have a sequal at some later date as there were some unfinished plots. The editing was pretty good. This book was rather creepy. It held my interest. The genre encompasses several spectrums. There is medical, science fiction, paranormal, murder mystery and suspense. It was very different. I think YA would really like this book, if they like horror films and novels. For ages 15 and up, because it has some gruesome, freaky parts. For both male and female readers. AD
