RITA winner for Best Historical Romance.

Fans of Jo Beverly, Mary Jo Putney, and Eloisa James will love Barbara Samuel's award-winning historical romance novels.

NO HEART EVER BEAT SO NOBLE—NOR SO STRONG

Britain, 1351. After an arduous exile to flee the darkness and danger sweeping her lands, Lady Elizabeth D’Auvers returns home to Woodell Castle, yearning only for her looms and her quiet life. To her astonishment, she finds the castle and farmlands thriving, thanks to Lord Thomas of Roxburgh, a knight errant whose size and strength offer protection to Elizabeth’s castle and its people.

Lord Thomas’s warm gaze makes Elizabeth’s flesh burn with unaccustomed fire, and her defenses crumble, leaving her heart as vulnerable as her trembling body. Yet chilling thoughts trouble her mind. For there is something dark and mysterious about this man—a secret that makes him as forbidden to desire as he is impossible to resist.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon - Lois Faye Dyer
A fast-paced plot and well-drawn characters make Heart of a Knight an enjoyable read. --Lois Faye Dyer
Romantic Times - Kathe Robin
"This realistic portrait of medieval life looks deeply into what makes a man worthy of the title of knight. When Lyssa discovers Thomas' ruse, she nearly loses the man she loves and respects. Not until he proves his mettle do all realize it is within a man's grasp to become a knight no matter his station in life when what he fights for is worthy. Ms. Samuel weaves a tale worthy of one of Lyssa's tapestries."

    more from this reviewer

    Good

This was a really good book, especially since it was a free one. The storyline was good, the romance and intrigue was well written. The only complaint I have was that I thought the ending was a little bit rushed. I was hoping for more, or at least more from the epilogue to completely finish the tale. The book is already close to 600 pages, why not add a few more to keep the end from being so rushed? But all in all, a good book and well worth downloading for free.

    Well written and thought out

Wonderful work by Barbara Samuel. The story was so good it was very hard to put the book down. You could just close your eyes for a second and it became a movie. Thanks for the great work Barbara.

    Loved it!

One of the best historial romances I have read in a very long time. Loved the characters and the bond of friendship between the women. You could picture every detail and feel every emotion. I really enjoyed the fact that it wasnt just another Lord meets a Lady and fall in love kinda thing, it went so much deeper. Looking forward to another by this author.

    Beautiful story!

I really enjoyed this book and couldn't put it down so the over 600 pages were over in a couple of days. An epic story, very well described so you can see and even smell the place. I highly recommend!

    Umm...

Ok i liked setting but every page had something about "betsport" "sex" "lust" etc. etc. etc... kinda annoying. Not all girls are as shallow as some girls in this book are. I think i would have loved this book ALOT more if there were less... sex crap in it. plc
