Overview

NAACP nominee and bestselling author Beverly Jenkins returns to the charming town of Henry Adams, Kansas—a place that always feels like home—in this heartwarming story of family, friendship, and the surprises hidden in our lives.

Henry Adams has had its fair share of drama ever since Bernadine Brown bought the town with her divorce settlement. Now just when things are starting to settle down, it’s about to get crazy again . . .

Cephas Patterson doesn’t just want to be left alone—if you dare step onto his property, he’ll meet you with a shotgun and a warning to stay away from his gold. He reminds Zoey of the lonely time she spent living on the streets, so she quietly begins leaving him small offerings. But then Cephas dies and leaves a saddlebag of gold—to Zoey.

And that’s not all. Zoey’s parents are going through a trial separation, her former BFF Devon is giving her fits, and friend Crystal has run away from home. Then there’s Bernadine’s mean-spirited baby sister who has arrived unexpectedly, and an ongoing battle with a neighboring town is about to heat up.

Will Henry Adams ever be the same again?

You would have to read the other Blessing books to understand the history inorder to understand this series. This was a good read it kept me wondering whats gonna happen next. I like the fact the author gave us an update of how the other characters are doing some hav matured some still have issues. This book mainly focus on little Zoey & her parents & an addition 2 her family. I luv the relationship between MsB & Mal. There were alot of issues in this book but they all came together at the end

As usual, the book is a solid read, but I missed the complexities of the other books. It seemed every story was rushed and the resolutions were very superficial. Not at all what I am used to, having read every book this author has written. This was probably the weakest book in the series. It didn't make me look forward to the enxt book, and somethings just seemed out of place. My overall impression was that she was trying to take us someplace, but we never quite got there.

Amazing Author and Love Henry Adams Life Best Book out of the 5 so far, never have I not only read a book so quick in less than 3 days on my schedule. This book actually brought me to tears. You left a whole lot of things open for the next book I must say Exceptional writing by Ms. B as usual. Cannot wait for book 6 already

BOB 5 - Awesome read!! I loved how she started with Neil July, Griffin Blake and Two Shafts. If you didn't get a chance to read her short story about Crystal's runaway you may have felt it was rushed. But for those who follow Ms Bev on FB know what I'm talking about. She brought it together. I really loved how Zoey was kind to the elderly and not only shared her wealth with all. More kids need to take time to be nice and kind to the elderly. Each book give a little history, brings families closer and new people to the wonderful town that is Henry Adams!!! Waiting for the next book in this series!!
