All Music Guide - Robert Taylor
To dismiss an Earl Klugh recording as easy listening is unfair. Klugh is one of the most inventive and accomplished guitarists to emerge from the 1970s. His discography has been heavily criticized in jazz circles, and for the most part deservedly so, as not qualifying as true Jazz music based on improvisation. Klugh's "Acoustic Lady" is an infectious song and showcases his harp-like sound on the guitar. While it may be classified as easy listening, it is certainly not easy playing. A very beautiful and warm recording with enough guitar playing to keep even the most advanced players baffled.

    Classic Earl

Earl Klugh has been, and still is the man!! He has consistently produced some of the greatest smooth jazz music for years. I've had this particular cd since it first came out years ago, but technology is just now allowing me to publicly express my appreciation for it. I recommend not only Heart Strings, but any of Earl's cd's to anybody, whether they call themselves jazz lovers or not. No one can ease the tension of a hard day at work like some smooth sounds from Earl. I'm an avid smooth jazz fan, and would put this cd up there with the best of them!!
