All Music Guide - Richie Unterberger
The four-CD, 102-song Heartaches & Harmonies set includes all of the Everly Brothers' key performances, as well as many overlooked ones, dating from a previously unreleased 1951 radio performance of "Don't Let Our Love Die" to a 1990 live rendition of the very same tune. Fine liner notes with detailed comments from the Everlys themselves, but it still manages to miss some great tunes like the 1964 single "You're the One I Love" and various tracks from their late-'50s and early-'60s LPs and shouldn't be considered a definitive collection of all their great performances. And the hard fact is, a lot of their post-1966 material which comprises some of disc three and all of disc four is kind of boring.
