Meet the Author

Award-winning author Karen Rose Smith was born in Pennsylvania. Although she was an only child, she remembers the bonds of an extended family. She and her parents lived with her grandfather and aunt until she was five when her parents built a house next door. Since her father came from a family of ten and her mother, a family of seven, there were always aunts, uncles and cousins visiting on weekends. Family is a strong theme in her books and she suspects her childhood memories are the reason. As a teenager, music became as important to Karen as reading. The Beatles were her favorite group. But she and her cousin took their first sojourn into writing by collaborating on a script for the MONKEES television program. They sent that script to every concert venue where the group appeared that summer! In college, Karen began writing poetry and also met her husband to be. They both began married life as teachers, but when their son was born, Karen decided to try her hand at a home-decorating business. She returned to teaching for a while but changes in her life led her to writing romance fiction. Now she writes full time. Her first romance was published in 1992; her 80th romance will be published in 2013. A winner of New Jersey's Golden Leaf Award in Short Contemporary Romance, Colorado Romance Writers Award Of Excellence for short contemporary, as well as the Phoenix Desert Rose Chapter's Golden Quill for Traditional Romance, she has also been honored with Cataromance.com's award for Best Special Edition. Her romances have made both the USA TODAY list, and the Amazon Romance and Contemporary Romance Bestseller lists.Karen's SEARCH FOR LOVE ebook series will soon be available in audiobooks as well as ebooks. She has added book 7, HER SISTER, a contemporary women's fiction novel to the series. As well as indie publishing, she writes Harlequin Special Editions and will see the debut of a mystery series for Kensington in December 2013. Leave It To Beaver-esque

I can't believe I finished reading this book. I kept expecting it to get better, but it did the opposite and only got worse as I continued reading. I'm very disappointed with and can't recommend it. The first half of the book was decent, I thought it was a cute story with a Leave It To Beaver vibe to it. The tension between the H/h was pretty good as well. There's no smexy times at all though. Until the last 10% or so I was pretty indifferent about the characters, neither liking nor disliking them. But the end showed how stupid and spiteful they were.

There was also tons of redundancy in this novella. Definitely not something I like. Progression is a good thing, People! I got tired of seeing the H/h regurgitate their issues over and over again to each other with no resolutions. That should have been my first sign that this book just wasn't going to work for me. And the end was just really bad. Very abrupt and tidy… sunshine, lollipops, and unicorn farts, anyone?

Had this been a physical book, I would have thrown it at the wall, then directly into the recycle bin. But I just growled at my nook and told the receptionist at the dentist office after she gave me a strange look, "Do not get this book!!! It is soooo bad!" The only thing I liked was how well the author wove the story. What can I say? It's a well written book that sucks you in and you never realize how crappy it really is until you're nose deep and that's all you can smell…

    Good read

This book was good. If you like emotional roller coasters. She loves him but doesnt dare to open her heart, thinking he is still in love with his late wife. He loves her but doesnt want her to resent him if she gives up her career for him. So they assume they cant work things out.

    Great story

This was a pretty great book. Sweet storyline and well developed characters. The only negative was that the end just felt rushed. It could have been extended slightly more.

    LOVED IT!

This was a GREAT book! The story was well written, the characters were well developed. I felt like I was getting to know each of the three main characters - even the little boy. Children are difficult to write and the author did it very well. I will be looking for other books by this author.
