Editorial Reviews

VOYA - Karen Jensen
Heartless is book seven in the Pretty Little Liars (PLL) series, which is now being made into a television series on the ABC Family network. PLL is the story of four friends - Emily, Aria, Hanna and Spencer - who are dealing with the disappearance and death of Alison DiLaurentis. Each of the girls has secrets they want to keep, including the fact that someone named "A" keeps texting them and threatening to tell all. In Heartless, the four girls awaken at Spencer's house after a fire has been set. The girls insist that they have seen Ali alive. Emily is sent on a mission to Amish country where she learns that a girl named Leah was also killed, possibly by the police officer investigating them for Alison's death. The girls seek the help of a medium while Hanna is sent to a clinic to deal with her eating disorder; here, another possible suspect is identified. Ultimately, all four girls end up arrested and in jail for Ali's murder, only to realize that "A" has been trying to turn them against each other. When another girl is murdered, a new suspect emerges and the girls are released from jail—still unsure of the identity of the text-messaging "A". Pretty Little Liars is Desperate Housewives for teens, with a little Queen Bees and Wannabees thrown in. There are a lot of characters and twists and turns to keep track of, but the mystery is interesting and will keep teens invested. Fans of the series will want to read this newest title; but new readers should start with book one. Reviewer: Karen Jensen

ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ!!!

Oh. My. God. after I read the first book I absolutley fell in LOVE with the series. The plot line is soooo good. It's about the best thing about this series. It's not just a book with teenage drama and stuff its got a really good mystery to it. And the character developement is really good too. Hanna, Spencer, Aria, and Emily are amazing. I also love how Sara Shepard made it basically about one girl's mystery and dissaperance, Ali, but never actually had a chapter were you see the story through her eyes. It's all through the other girls eyes and it captivates you almost immediatley. Sara Shepard is an amazing mystery writer and even after this series ends (which I'll be so sad about) I hope she continues to write more. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a good mystery.

Claims of a dead body behind Spencer's house that no one ever found, coupled with their new claims of seeing someone who was supposed to be dead, has earned the girls the nickname of Pretty Little Liars.

A looney bin, Amish life, seances, and believing one's family capable of murder is what's in store for the girls this time around. When you've told many different tales that seem unbelievable, who's gonna believe anything that you have to say?

HEARTLESS had intriguing characters, suspenseful storylines, and enough action going on to keep you going from page one. This has been a great series from the very first book, and I look forward to its conclusion in book eight. Sara Shepard has crafted a series that readers from teens to mature adults will all enjoy.

PRETTY LITTLE LIARS is definitely a series to recommend.

    DREAMS

I am going 2 laugh when this whole series ends as a dream that one of the girls had. I am going to be rolling on the floor laughing if this ends in a dream. Don't get me wrong, it's a good series, but I think it will have a bad ending.

    Kritters Ramblings

Another great set of books in the Pretty Little Liars series. To make it short and sweet - I felt that at the end of Wanted it had come to a great conclusion, so I did some research. I found that this was to be the end of the series. Apparently as the tv show gained attention 3 books were added to the end of the series, so I decided to end my reading at book 8 - Wanted.

In conclusion of the series, I absolutely loved it. It was perfect to read by the pool during the summer, nice and easy reading.

This book continues a great series!

This book gives you so many more questions with little answers to the mistery in the series. Very edgy and makes you want to keep reading to get the answers. The character building is established at this point and you feel connected. Good book great series.

I have been waiting for this book since I saw the title. It was very good and revealed so much of the story. I just wonder how she is going to tie all this together though. It was very good and the best of her series so far. Can't wait for the next one!
