HIGH LEVEL: This is BOOK 1 in a paranormal romance series. Focus is on werewolves- not anything outrageously creative, but not your typical "finding your place in the pack" struggle either. The big thing about this book is that it is INTENSE- sexy, sure. Likable characters, yup. Decent plot, yeah, that too. But really, the major thing is that I spent the ENTIRE BOOK with my heart in my throat...

I dreamt of this book - when I finally put it down and went to sleep. I look for Daniel Kane when a Harley drives by. I'm always on the lookout for green eyes like Malcolm Cole's - but as of yet haven't found any. This is the first book in Heather Killough-Walden's wolf series - The Big Bad Wolf Series - and it creates a sexy, dangerous, romantic, paranormal world set primarily in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where Daniel Kane has just been appointed police chief, the youngest ever. Kane rides a Harl

    GREAT READ

I was expecting a mediocre book for the price, but was sucked into the story right away. It was a great read, not over done with romance, and action packed. I just bought the second book after devouring the first in a day.

    Loved it!

I became so engrossed in this book that I read the entire thing in one day. The story and characters are so dynamic...I bought the second and third books immediately. Now I've finished them all and I can't wait until the fourth book comes out! By the way...this series contains some of the hottest love scenes I've read.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE THESE BOOKS...

I want my husband to call me Cher! Its so sexy when those Nawlin' boys say it! Absolutely love these guys and the strong women the attract. The best $1.00 I've spent in a while. And, "grown up" enough to be really hot. All of the books in this series were worth the wait. Can't wait for more.

    REALLY GOOD!

THIS BOOK WAS REALLY GOOD. I LIKED HOW THE WEREWOLF WAS ACTUALLY BIG AND BAD, WITH HIS MOTORCYCLE AND DARK DEMEANOR. I THOUGH MALCOLM WAS A REALLY GOOD BAD GUY. I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL THIS FOR ANYONE BUT IT WAS A GREAT READ AND I ALREADY BOUGHT THE NEXT BOOK IN THE SERIES.

    Mastery seldom seen - Brilliant!

Wow. This book opens with such immediate force, in such an alarming way, it instantly grabs your attention and holds it tight.

The author wraps the environment so tightly around your senses, with brilliant (but economic) descriptions - that you feel as if *you are there*.

Enter Daniel Kane. Immediately, the reader shares Lily's attraction. HKW has a way of making the reader *share intimately* what the Main character (MC) is going through. And from the minute Daniel walks onto the page - you are stuck. You never want to leave - ever again. You want to stay inside this book for a lifetime, just to be reminded of what animal attraction feels like. We've all felt it - but HKW makes it IMMEDIATE, insistent - and damn impossible to ignore.

Add to this *core* of the book, an incredible cast of menacing characters, serial killers, and kidnappers - and you are swept up on such a wave of adrenaline and lust, you just cannot stop reading.

For this alone the book gets 5//5 stars from me. It is gripping, captivating, and utterly compelling.

But aside from all of the above, the sense of humor in this book had me laughing out loud in the middle of the night as I stayed up way past my bedtime reading.

I simply do not have the words to tell you how GOOD this book is. It's so brilliant on so many levels - it's a gripping read that spins off at a race of knots like a fighter pilot after a bogey. And inside it all is a level of such honesty, it shocked me into laughter too. Yes women do get horny, and when HKW put it in so many words - I laughed - blushing, wanting to kick her for saying - yup when we have it bad we REALLY have it bad!

And then there is the descriptive way she winds words into such vivid imagery "smoke shoved its sticky fists down his throat and tried to throttle his lungs" - to a lover of language, this sort of writing makes me sigh with deep satisfaction.

Read this book - you will not regret this purchase. The story has such a deep sense of urgency, you rush through it, unable to tear your eyes away, even when she makes you lust after delicious men, or cringe against the worst violation you have read on a page.

    Worth the price

I enjoyed the action but felt the connection between the main characters could have been built a little deeper and for that it gets 4 stars. Regardless, I couldn't put it down. Nice read.

    Alpha Alert

This is the first book of a really great series. I finished all of the books currently out in under 4 hours. These books pull you in and make you want to know what happens next. If you like wolves - Alpha males - Strong women then read these books. If you are interested in whimps don't bother reading these books.
