Overview

With his huge charisma, vast talent, and smoldering looks lighting up the screen, Heath Ledger quickly became a Hollywood A-list following his debut in the 1999 teen film 10 Things I Hate About You. But it was his award-winning and controversial role as Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain that cemented Ledger’s place in the pantheon of acting greats. He was one of the youngest actors to ever to be nominated for an Oscar, and it was on the set of Brokeback that he fell in love with his costar Michelle Williams, with whom he had a daughter in 2005. With the world at his feet and a star role in the new Batman movie—The Dark Knight—in the can, there was worldwide shock and disbelief following his sudden death in his New York apartment on January 22, 2008. Prescription drugs—found next to his body—were thought to be the cause, but mystery surrounded the circumstances. Was it an accidental death? Or were the pressures of life in the spotlight too great to bear? This is the tragic story of the brilliant actor whose light shone so brightly, but all too briefly, upon the world.

Horrible, dont even waste your money. . .

I have to say, I was very much looking forward to reading this book, as I am a big Heath Ledger fan. After purchasing this book, I started reading it right away, & was disappointed right from the start. The book is basically just pages & pages of interview quotes over the years, that anyone can look up by going online. The author rambles on in this book about numerous topics that hardly have anything to do with Heath, such as pages & pages of the history of Perth, the history of Heaths grammar school, etc. Also, this is supposed to be a book about HEATH, & yet there seems to be more information about his costars over the years, then actually of him. I mean if I really wanted to read Naomi Watts or Mel Gibsons life story, then I'd buy a book about them!!! As a Heath fan, I feel this book did not live up to what he deserves. Hopefully one day someone will right a book about him & ONLY him, & will help us fans get to know more about HIM & his life!!! RIP Heath!!!

    We miss you Heath!

Let me just say that when I saw The Dark Knight, Heath was excellent as The Joker! He was so talented and loved by many. I hope that he wins an award for that role!! He DEFINITELY deserves it, without a doubt! Ever since I heard that Heath passed away I almost broke down and cried! He was a good person and this book is emotional! Heath, we will never forget you! God bless you with all the love in the world!
