Overview

After making a bad decision when she was very young, Kia Clementine finds herself in hell. Then, suddenly, within the time it takes for a shotgun to blast, her hell changes. Completely. Then out-of-the-blue she sees Sampson Cooper, her celebrity crush. A man the whole world knows is decent. A man the world knows is loyal. A man the world knows is good. All of these very unlike her now dead husband.

He’s sitting at a table right next to hers. And she catches his eye.

Terrified of the interest Sam shows in her, Kia finds the courage to go out with him. Not long after, she shares her dark secrets and Sam shares that he’ll stop at nothing to gain her trust.

As Sam leads Kia to heaven, Kia realizes that Sam is living his own hell. But although he gives her beauty and she gives him everything, he withholds his trust.

Even with all the beauty Sam shows her, Kia wants it all. But Sam forces Kia to make a heartbreaking decision and only she can decide. It’s all or nothing.

Meet the Author

Kristen Ashley grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched). Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up. And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

Absolutely the best one of hers I've read yet. 1100+ pages of great story that you want to go on forever. So glad to have one that you can start and the story finishes within the same book! Loved the characters, just everything about it.

The book was cute but honestly? His secret was easy to figure out and it was not something hr couldnt have told her. The book could easyly have 200 pages instead of 1000

This was not one of my favorites. There were times I didn't like the leading man and I wanted Kia to put him in his place. Mainly I think this was a book where the overbearing alpha male really didn't belong. I did enjoy the ending and I did overall like the story

Kia Clementine made a horrible decision when she got married and spent years in hell. Then suddenly, with a shotgun blast everything changes. When Kia takes a well deserved vacation she meets her celebrity crush, Sampson Cooper. A man everyone adores, respects, and is very much the complete opposite of her dead husband. As Sampson and Kia begin their relationship Kia starts to notice that Sam has demons of his own. Although he gives Kia beauty he withholds his trust. OMG! loved this book. After everything Kia goes through she still stands strong and now refuses to have nothing less than everything she deserves. Kia is strong, smart, and beautiful. KA has an amazing way of pulling you into her story, her world and making you feel everything her characters are going through. I have fallen for each and every character she has created and not been let down.

This is one of my favorite Kristen Ashley books, pre all of her men seeming like the same person. Sam has some of those badass traits but he also has his own personality, flaws and character.

I keep thinking she'll have a dud, but so far she hasn't written one. And this story of an abused young wife who finds her freedom after an act of violence, but has to discover the courage to grasp that freedom and the new love she has found is an outstanding and, at times, heartbreaking love story. Beautiful.

What a story! Sam is the perfect, strong, sexy, totally awesome hero you want in a great book! The story is written so well and the characters so real you can't help but fall in love with them. It is a stand-alone book so that makes it even better because you get the entire story in one read!!! And it has a HEA to die for. It should be at the top of everyone's TBR list...if not MOVE IT UP! "Listen to your heart and find your own happiness."

Another great story from Kristen Ashley. I love her broken characters but you don't know they are broken. They are so strong and power and still need a great woman to help them through. Keep 'em coming, KA!

Really enjoyable.  Sam and Kia were just great together. It was a bit silly to take so long to reveal Sam's problem, especially as most readers would probably have figured it out early on.  The descriptions of the different places was very good.  The other characters in the story were easy to like.  Overall  I think this was one of her best books. If you enjoy this book then read at Peace.
