The story in these books is interesting which is why I kept read

The story in these books is interesting which is why I kept reading them. However from the beginning I found the characters too shallow. They are all the same. Everyone adores and kowtows to the main characters who are too precious. They ask stupid questions in the middle of crises. None of the characters seems to grow unless they fail catastrophically. These problems were easily ignored in the earlier books, but by this last book I found them incredibly annoying. I won't be reading any further books by this author.

I highly recommend Kylie Chan's whole series!! I loved these books.

I have enjoyed all of Ms Chan's books so far. Dark Heaven series introduces our heroine Emma Donahoe and the Chen family. It is a wonderful introduction to Chinese myth and folklore, as well as Chinese/Hong Kong culture. In the second trilogy the Journey to Wudang series, the storyline of the Emma and John's love and their love of Simone continues and is constantly exciting. My only complaint was that I thought I would get a satisfying ending with the last of this series and found that the story continues on ( a happy discovery, but wistful for the happy ending). Good adventure, action and fantasy in a new venue - great reading.

    Excellent

I have thoroughly enjoyed both trilogies. I was hoping for a conclusion but can live with it because that means more to read!! My only comment with the series is I was hoping Simone would mature a little faster than she has but there is progress so I hope it continues. Thank you, Ms. Kylie, for wonderful stories. I hope you will continue to write many more!
