More About This Book

Overview

Following on the hooves of her well-received book Horse Tales from Heaven (nearly 30,000 copies sold since its June 2010 release), horsewoman Rebecca Ondov offers 50 brand-new devotions gleaned from her years of working from the saddle in Montana. Heavenly Horse Sense features horse and trail stories that reveal God’s majesty, His love for His creation, and how He helps believers become more like Christ. Readers will enjoy stories that show how...

  • naming horses and mules reflects God’s joy in His unique creations
  • a farrier’s skill and forge mimic God’s work on our character
  • a horse’s homing instinct is a great reminder that God is our perfect guide
  • a goof-off mule shows God is always present and working behind the scenes
  • rain-soaked boots highlight Jesus’ foot-washing message of servanthood

Each story focuses on how much God loves us and how He always follows through on His promises. Wrapping up each devotion is a brief prayer thanking God for His constant presence and care.

A book to enjoy over and over! Great for homeschool students too!

Rebecca has done it once again. After thoroughly enjoying Rebecca’s first book “Horse Tales from Heaven” I was determined to read her newest offering. In accomplishing this I have not been disappointed. Rebecca’s vivid descriptions of the mountains, terrain, and wildlife drew me into the stories so much so that I oftentimes lost track of time. I found myself at one point in the waiting room at my Doctor’s office asking if I had missed my name being called. This is exactly what I expect when I read a very well written story. Rebecca’s use of descriptive elements, foreshadowing of up coming events, the antagonistic situations and attitudes, and the ever present Protagonist of the Holy Spirit, guiding, teaching and leading her allows her stories to impact my life on a spiritual, emotional and intellectual level. I appreciate Rebecca’s candor in not only recognizing her human weaknesses but especially in the way she allows her teachable spirit to learn and grow through these life lessons. I would heartily recommend this book to any horse lover, outdoor person and especially to those whose heart is to learn and grow through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. I will be buying copies of this book to share with family and friends. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Hit the trails with Rebecca Ondov in her exciting book!

Being a horse and nature lover, I thoroughly enjoyed reading Rebecca Ondov’s “Heavenly Horse Sense.” Not only are her stories entertaining, but inspirational and spiritual as well. Her writing is so beautiful that I felt I was riding my horse next to her on the trail. I am sure that anyone who reads this book will love it; I know I did! You will enjoy the ride!

Amazing adventures! How God uses animals to get His lessons across.

This is a book that will make you laugh; it will make you cry; most of all, you will be refreshed, encouraged and inspired by the lessons learned from Rebecca’s adventures. The stories are short, most can be read in about fifteen minutes. But if you’re like me, an avid reader, you’ll find it hard not to keep reading the next story and the next, just to see how God teaches her through the events, some frightening, some maddening, some comical and some tragic that He leads her through.
If you love horses, if you love the mountains, if you love camping, even if you don't, if you just like to get out of the house now and then, these stories will lift your spirit and make you long for more.
I loved it. You will, too.

    Great devotional book for anybody.

I highly recommend “Heavenly Horse Sense.” It is a masterfully written devotional book written by the one who experienced each adventure firsthand. Rebecca Ondov knows what it is to trust the Lord day by day in life threatening circumstances as well as everyday problems that turn out right through faith in God.
