I love this CD...The song home life is excellent! If you enjoy relaxing to music this CD is great. I have recently purchased three John Mayer CDs, all are different but good. I find that I don't need to skip songs because I like them all and love many!

I love John Mayer and I am a total fan. Icould listen to his music for forever. This is not one of his newer ones but it totally rocks! Continuum is also a great CD. Be sure to check out Heavier Things!!!!!!!1

John Mayer releases yet another awesome album. It gives such a JM vibe, and I love it. I know you will enjoy the track "Something's Missing" because it is amazingly well-written and played. Also, "Come back to bed" is really jazzy and entertaining.

While this CD lacks lyrical depth for the most part, with Mayer singing mostly about women and woes, ("Wheel" and "Daughters" are two of a few exceptions), each song is meticulous. With all cuts carefully and obviously crafted to be radioworthy - numerous refrains and bridges, melodic hooks galore - John continues to display his musical eclecticness. This is especially shown on the cut "Clarity", which begins with a hand-clapping jazz beat, although the vocals are tired. I give this album three stars for being completely listener-oriented, but if you dig a little bit deeper into lyrics and comparisons to Mayer's last disc, it could sharpen up a little. The main problem, in fact, with Heavier Things is that the things really aren't heavier.

I think this guy is very talented. He's proved he can hang with the POP crowd and he's proved he can hang with Eric Clapton and Buddy Guy, doing some tour dates with them. This album fustrates me because I know he is capable of some much more. It is well produced, well written and well played. But, there is this Casio keyboard sound to the drum work that is hard to ignore. It is a real distraction from what could be really great music. It is a CD I like more as I listen. As a guitar player myself I am impressed with his live show. If he only would have carried that energy over to this album. Over all it is good. Something's Missing should have been the title track.

i listen to heavier music. Examples; linkin park, korn, slipnot, rob zombie, ect. But u gatta give john some props for creating such good melodies, and lyrics that could bring any woman to her knees, not that he doesn't already, but u get the point. About a 45 minute cd, that doesn't have a bad song in it. And it's one of those cd's where if you are truely open minded and give it a listen u will buy it. And also u gatta love a guy who goes on the chapelle show, and goes into a black barber shop, and just wails on the guitar. GO JOHNNY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was only introduced to John's music a couple of months ago, and can not get enough of his voice. He delivers his songs with so much passion, how can one now fall in love with his songs."Heavier Things" is a different sound than I think a lot of people are used to. Heavier Things is great because we see John not afraid to try his hand at a new sound, and heavier lyrics which we see done gracefully on Heavier Things. I think that this is just the begining for John. And it is great to see him mix jazz, and pop music into his own creation in the opening song, Clarity. A true artist. This is a must have. Songs: Clarity, Bigger than my Body, Somethings Missing, and Daugthers are my personal favorites. I highly recommend this CD.

Okay.. it's not only my attraction to John Mayer than makes this new CD awesome, but his amazingly soothing voice. I must say that "Daughters" has to be my favorite. John Mayer delivers a fresh, new cd with great great songs!

Ever since "Room for Squares" John Mayer has sounded as good as Brue Springstien and as good of lyrics as Michael Franks. This album is truely well written and sung. Keep them coming John.

I have to tell you the truth, I haven't heard any songs from John Mayer's new album "Heavier Things" except the new single "Bigger Than My Body" which I must say is one of his best songs yet. This c.d. cover looks way better than the last one did. John's acoustic sound takes you to places where you love and want to be. His music is inspiring to all. I hated him when I heard his singles for the first time on his first album but then it was lightning struck and I suddenly bought his c.d."Room For Squares" and loved it. It is one of my fav. c.d.'s and I assure you that this album is much more fantastic as the last. John Mayer and this new c.d. rock. Buy "Heavier Things" now!

I've always been a John Mayer fan, since I first heard "No Such Thing" on the radio. I'm not one who listens to John Mayer either. I listen to punk and when my fellow punkers look through my cd case and find John's cd, they laugh at me. I've listened to this album on MTV's The Leak and I have to say, it's better than the first.

I bought this cd within the first 2 hours it was out. It's very good. I've had the opportunity to see John Mayer live in concert, and despite his continual talking between songs (hey, it's his concert, he can talk if he wants), he plays an awesome guitar. Way better than some of those untalented punk bands out there. Anyhow, this CD is mellower than his first I think. But I can really relate to the lyrics. I think its because people in their 20s all feel mostly similar. My faves are Clarity and Bigger Than My Body, but all of the songs are good I would say. I highly recommend this album.

Mayer must have listened to the Dave Matthews Bands' last effort "Busted Stuff" many times, because it sure sounds alot like it. Mayer continues to mix marginally talented songwriting talents with an increasingly exacting copy of Mr. Matthews' voice and stylings. After the last effort, it was hoped that Mayer may finally display some sort of originality in his craft; alas, our hopes are washed away. But, to his credit, he has a future career in a DMB cover band any time he wants!

John Mayer is that rare artist that returns with an album that rivals the first. In an age when so many artist disappoint, Mayer allows fans to walk into the record store and pick up his CD without reading a review or hearing a sample, simply because he is an awesome artist! If you enjoyed "Room For Squares" and "Any Given Thursday" you will definately enjoy "Heavier Things" !

don't get my wrong, im a huge JM fan. but this CD is not a carbon copy of RFS, as it shouldnt be. he delves deeper into issues other artists shy away from. his track "Somethings missing" leave the listener wondering what happends, where "daughters" points to an issue that no one else, besides mayer could ever consider. the Cd ultimatly puts u in a thoughtfull mood...and along the way makes u rise and fall with the artist himself

I think you can judge an artist and their songs by hearing them perform live. Daughters and Bigger than my Body were amazing when I saw him in concert. I can only imagine how the rest of the new cd will sound. I suggest that everyone buy his new cd "Heavier Things."

As befits its title, the follow-up to John Mayer's breakthrough album, Room for Squares, is less starry-eyed and noticeably more hardened -- but don't worry, fans, the singer-songwriter still wears his heart on his sleeve. Much of Heavier Things still centers on matters of that heart, but this time around, Mayer's having a little less luck. The shuffling, blues-tinged "Come Back to Bed" finds him unsuccessfully pleading with a lover to do just that, while the contemplative "Something's Missing" dares to dip into the deep end of the self-examination pool without offering any cut-and-dried answers.
