I could not put this book down. Youngster is a character that you will fall in love with. This novel is a tear jerker and a story that people of all ages can learn from. I recommend this wonderful novel to anyone....old, young, man, female, black or white. This story is a life learning experience especially for our youth in the inner city. J. Love is a writer that uses his ultimately big heart to tell his story of coming up in Los Angeles, and the effects it had on anyone he touched, including his young son.

This book is the realest book that I have read in a while. =This is one of those books that you buy for every young man in your life to read to get the idea that streets and drugs are not the way. I love Youngster and his realness. He can teach a lot of young men the wrong way to live, and teach life lessons along the way. Great book!

I was one of the first people who got the chance to read this book and I must say, this book is addictive. When I started to read 'Heavy in the Game', I wasnt able to stop reading it. I had to know what is happening next. So I read it within 24 hours. Its the greatest book I have ever read!!!! I told all my friends about it, and for those who knows me, they know I dont talk about books. But 'Heavy in the Game' is the greatest book I have ever read in my entire life. I hope to see more books comming out from J.Love. He is a great writer and I cant wait to read more books by him!!!! Thanks J.Love for writing such a great book!!!!

I loved this book. I thought it was written very well. I started to read it at 8:30am while at work and managed to finish it by 3pm that same day (while doing work of course). I couldn't put the book down, I just had to keep reading it. I love how the author showed both sides of Youngster, the hustler and the father. I cannot wait until the next book comes out! Keep writing Mr. Love!!! :)

This was definately worth the money! I read this and loved it. This goes to show that not everyone on the wrong side of the law is bad. Giving us an inside look at Youngster's seperate lives....one as a street hustler while the other is trying to live his life clean and raise a son. I applaud Youngster's drive to get out of the game and create a better life for him and his son. I look forward to reading more of J.Love's books. Great job Mr. Love!
