Meet the Author

Steve Babbit's interest in modern Israel and the Hebrew language began in June of 1967 with the re-taking of the Old City of Jerusalem during the Six-Day War. Shortly after graduating from high school in 1970, he lived in Israel for half a year and since then has returned many times.

In 1985 Steve studied Biblical Hebrew in graduate school and later studied Modern Hebrew at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Additionally, he has studied Arabic and Aramaic, languages which help the student of Hebrew to better understand Biblical Hebrew and its roots.
