Modern Philology
Among the many contibutions to world literature that ancient Iceland has given us, Heimskringla stands out as one of the truly monumental works. Among medieval European histories in the vernacular it has no equal.

    Simply Amazing

This is a modern translation of possibly the greatest of the Old Norse King Sagas. The introduction and notes are very insightful, and the text itself is very accessible. This edition includes the entire chronicle as well. This is a wonderful edition of a wonderful text. It even invludes a few illustrations.
