Overview

More than one man in Azulland craves the ultimate prize – control of the fifteenth century island country. Nafino Zephyr, hand to the king of Bellux-Abry, is willing to sell his soul to get it. Denyson Folworth, heir to the throne of Qaddys, is willing to execute anyone who stands in his way, even his own father.

After months of bloody warfare, a respite is desired by all, especially Ammey McKeaf, daughter of the country’s greatest general. Exhausted by the civil unrest of the previous year, Ammey craves normalcy and peace, but a king and a famed hero-assassin both vie for her heart – a heart that is torn between them. LOVED IT!!! The second book in this series did not disappoint.

LOVED IT!!! The second book in this series did not disappoint. The story continues right where we left off in the first book and what transpires is not what you would expect. I love that Jane keeps us guessing by bringing in new characters and situations and is not giving us a predictable story. I am so in love with the characters, I feel like I really know them. I can't wait for the next one. This is definitely one of my favorite series.

Looking forward to the next book!

Jane does it again. I loved this book, just as eloquent as the first installment. Ms. Shoup paints such a dramatic story with interesting relatable characters. A tad racier than the first book, but with the introduction of new characters it isn't out of place. Thank you Jane for such a wonderful tale!

    Afraid to love?

Building anticipation for the reunion of two young lovers seemed to come easily to Shoup in this second book. My only disappointment was that any intimacy seemed marred by confusion, rape or incest. Don't be afraid Jane Shoup! Let them be in love! The bonds of friendship and family are truly endearing.
