Helen Vardon has moments of brilliance mixed with a few rough transitions and some questionable twists and turns that variously cause one to wonder whether this is a mystery or a romance or some novel delving into the debate on occultism. The answer is none of the worst of the above, and yet brushing the edges of all three. The first chapters are certainly the best, but I, at least, found it worth reading to the end to verify my guess about the true acts, unseen by the narrator. Was this review helpful?
