Overview

This "two-fer" from Legacy/Sony Music collects two of the legendary New Wave of British Heavy Metal outfit's best albums. Released in 1978, Hell Bent for Leather, which was called Killing Machine in the U.K., offered up a more streamlined, commercial set than its predecessor, Stained Class, providing a nice setup for the near perfect British Steel, which would follow two years later, while 1984's dark and defiant Defenders of the Faith skillfully bridged the gap between 1982's electrifying Screaming for Vengeance and 1986's divisive Turbo.
