Book was fine, B&N is horrible.

The book required that an application be installed on your desktop for viewing. This application was essentially a frontend for an adobe verification/decryption backend and the installer doesn't even let you choose an install location (trying to keep my ssd light on the apps). It even required that I create an Adobe account just to view it and offered to fill my B&N password. This means that B&N is not salting my password or even encrypting it. Anybody who comes knocking on their server would be able to nab it, nevermind how bad Adobe's snafus have been in the past. Regardless, the Adobe account creator in the application was busted anyway. I had to log onto Adobe from a browser. Do yourself a favor and avoid B&N until they clean up their act. As it stands, their security and ease of use is horrible. The encryption they make you jump through these hoops to maintain has been broken by people using python scripts for pete's sake! There's no reason they keep you from using it on your phone but they do.
