Meet the Author

I live in beautiful Queensland in Australia. I started writing in 2009 because I wanted to do something creative and haven't stopped since! I have two series of books:

The Heller series (first book Heller - free!) features the frequently outlandish adventures of security officer, Tilly Chalmers, and her complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious and intense boss, Heller. There will be seven books in total in this series.

The Little Town series (first book Blood Ties - free!) features police officer, Tess Fuller, and her struggle to survive a long-standing vendetta with the feral Bycraft family and at the same time manage the tense relationship between her new partner, Finn Maguire, and her boyfriend, Jake Bycraft. There will be five books in total in this series.

My author dream is to one day write a short story (which for me will probably be about 50,000 words!) where Tilly & Heller meet Tess & Finn. What a story that would be! Maybe over the end-of-year break???

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them! I'd love to hear your feedback, so why not email me at: jdn.author@gmail.com

I would pay much more than $1.99 for this book!

Bodyguard Tilly Chalmers is a trouble magnet both on and off the job. From the time she dons a dinosaur costume until she is rescued from a cult, trouble tracks this personal security officer. Her final job seems pretty simple but nothing in Tilly's life is simple. A serious assignment screw-up make the news, film at eleven, and Heller feels he has to punish everyone involved to protect his company's reputation. He has trouble coming up with something really tough for Tilly that he can live with, so Tillie suggestions that he suspend her for a year! Coincidentally, she has just gotten an intriguing job offer and is a little tired of getting beaten up. The job does not turn out quite the way she expects when she gets a mean temporary boss and Heller takes away a lot of her job related privileges, but at least she still gets to live "at home" with her Heller's family.
She has used the "I don't sleep with my boss" routine to hold Heller at a distance. Now she does not work for him things can move forward, if Heller can get a clue that she is not like his meet-them-in-a-bar-and-dump-them dates.
If you haven't read the first three books in the series, including the free book, Heller, you will want to read them before you read this one to understand the relationships.

I loved this series. I read all books back to back after discove

I loved this series. I read all books back to back after discovering Heller in the free section. I found myself laughing out loud at the shenanigans that Tilly managed to get into, cried with her during her turmoils, and cheered for her when she doubted herself. I absolutely cannot wait to read Heller's Decision.

Don't get me wrong. This series has the potential to be amazing.

Don't get me wrong. This series has the potential to be amazing. But every book is like a replay, just with different words. Still the same old thing. Tilly getting into some trouble and Heller getting her through it, over and over and over again. I had hoped Tilly would mature throughout the series, but was I ever wrong. She acts so childish, throwing temper tantrums and crying literally every five pages. And while Heller is a hottie, he acts so mature, too mature for Tilly. So it makes their relationship seem more like father-daughter, not lovers. And with the vulgar and crass sex scenes, it's like reading about incest. As I said, this series had the potential, but Ms. Nixon completely blew it.

    Nothing short of amazing

JD Nixon is the best author I have read in a long time. I just got this book tonight and could not put it down until i was finished! Action, humour, passion, and love all the way through the series. Between the Heller books and the Blood books, I have become a huge fan of Nixon's and cannot wait for more books from her.

    Second rate, ultimately boring

Instead of being a novel, this is a collection of loosely connected short stories, each with roughly the same plot: lady longs for her boss, who has more money than Romney, looks better than George Clooney, and is about as smart as Gomer Pyle. Lady then goes on assignment and stupidly gets in too deep. Boss saves her. Repeat 4 times.

    -.-

The story is draging for me, there is going to be another book after this one. The book is getting bored after reading the same things over and over. I will read the next one just to finish the story but if there is going to be another book after the next one I will stop.

    The best books!

I LOVED all of JD Nixion's books. I read the four Heller books as fast as I could in four days. I actually had to force myself to put them down and go to sleep. I was often made fun of by my family for laughing out loud at this book. I can't wait to read the next book in both series. PLEASE READ THIS BOOK!!!

    Great read!

I have read all 4 of the Heller series and would recommend them to anyone who likes a mixture of action, suspense, comedy & romance all mixed together. I love all of the characters & the "fixes" Tilly gets herself into. I can't wait for the next book to come out. Thanks for a great series, JD Nixon. Keep up the good work!

    Good but not 50 shades

I have enjoyed this series but the idea of the main character getting herself into sticky situations for 4 books that are 700 pages each gets a bit repetative I do want to know more about main characters and i want tilly and heller together but i really hope next book offers something better now that tilly has a new job

Excellent series!!! You should read all 4 books

All I can say is I actually wrote JD Nixon to ask when her fifth book on Heller is going to be finished. I can't wait to read it.

Great story line and very entertaining.

    Heller's Punishment

Same as Heller's Revenge - plot was okay - writing is amateurish.

    Seriously...Again

I started the series because the book was free and I have an addictive personality like that...lol. But honestly what real woman would put up with Heller's bs? Wouldn't be me and I doubt it would be any of you all. In this book especially she comes off like a speed-bump for Heller. If you are all about Girl Power, do yourself a favor and bypass this series.

    Loved it but...

I absolutely love this series!! Tilly is so damn funny. Nixon makes each character so real. The only issue im facing is that I cant find Hellers Decision on my nook. Im extremely dissappointed because it should be available and now I have to go find it elsewhere. Totally worth it though ;-)
