Meet the Author

I live in beautiful Queensland in Australia. I started writing in 2009 because I wanted to do something creative and haven't stopped since! I have two series of books:

The Heller series (first book Heller - free!) features the frequently outlandish adventures of security officer, Tilly Chalmers, and her complicated relationship with her beautiful, mysterious and intense boss, Heller. There will be seven books in total in this series.

The Little Town series (first book Blood Ties - free!) features police officer, Tess Fuller, and her struggle to survive a long-standing vendetta with the feral Bycraft family and at the same time manage the tense relationship between her new partner, Finn Maguire, and her boyfriend, Jake Bycraft. There will be five books in total in this series.

My author dream is to one day write a short story (which for me will probably be about 50,000 words!) where Tilly & Heller meet Tess & Finn. What a story that would be! Maybe over the end-of-year break???

I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them! I'd love to hear your feedback, so why not email me at: jdn.author@gmail.com

If you have read any of the other books in J.D.Nixon's Heller series, you should enjoy this one even more.  Tilly gets involved in more situations  that grow out of control, just as she always does.  But, she is learning to be more in control.  Quite a book... I laughed, I cried...

Love this series! This book is just as addictive. It takes you on an emotional roller coaster. Can't wait for the next book and sad to find out its the final one.

Absolutely love all of the Heller books!! Heller's Regret is pulling everything together and answering many open questions. Tilly is growing. Heller is trying to mellow. The characters in #6 evolve into real people by stepping up in Heller's absence and some characters from prior books reappear. Heart-breaking at times and uplifting at others! I think #6 is my favorite!!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Love the continuing saga of Tilly and Heller. Heller's Regret is really about Tilly's awakening. Yes, Tilly still gets into her usually crazy situations but, through most of this book, Heller is off on one of his special assignments and he is not there for Tilly when she really needs him the most. This leaves time for Tilly to ponder over the reality of her life and her future. This book obviously was setting the stage for the final book in the series and to me, it moves a little slower than the rest. I also found I missed the bantering back and forth between Tilly and Heller. With that said, by no means am I inferring I don't like this book because I do, and highly recommend this series. 295 pages

I love this series. Seriously. Tilly cracks me up and always finds herself in these crazy work-related situations. Her relationship with her boss, Heller, is tested tremendously in book 6. In fact, by the end, do they even have a relationship? That part tore me up because I SO want Heller to be the man that we know is in there. Tilly made the right choice, though, and I can't wait to see where it plays out in book 7. The paranormal assignment was weird. The babysitting the piano child was interesting, and the death of her father was gutting. I will continue to read this series because I can't seem to stop. I have to know what happens next - with her and with them as a couple. (And I hope with everything I have, JD Nixon, that they are a couple again soon! Anything else is unacceptable. ;)

I am so very, very disappointed in this book. It just doesn't compare to any of the others. I'm angry that I waited so long for this. Where is the good writing, the humor, the likability of the characters. Heller was absent through most of book. It was depressing at best and boring at worst. I still just can't believe it!!!!

Have read all of the books.  At first I was beginning to think, emotional abuse, since Heller was always blaming Tilly when something went wrong.  Not this time, but as always we are left hanging.  Can't wait for the next book.

This series will have you up all night long, and waiting for more. What a great series (both) and so well done that she never overlaps her character's . This is the first time I have ever written a review for any author in all of my forty-eight year's of reading. Great going. Joyce Merit-Marin

Lots of Tilly escapades but very little continuing saga between Heller and Tilly. Felt like dragging the series out with little gratification. But so invested now, have to finish the story.

Clogs up the plot and is a complete flop note that no one actually fully recovers from many injuries healed bones especially requiring metal still hurt burns leave scars as do stitches too many concussions ditto also the addition of the paranormal plus two druggings also no tox screen or emr for a incoherent suspect author seemed to forget what happened in previous books could have been a great long series
