Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Augusta Scattergood
The face of Calico, the furry baby kitten, smiles appealingly from the front cover and her tail twitches on the back. The book opens with Calico "yawning in the morning light, stretching off the dreams of night" while the sun rises and a rooster crows "Good Morning!" outside her window. As she invites the youngest readers along on her adventures, we follow Calico up an apple tree and down again into a mound of soft hay. A purple butterfly lands on kitty. Calico's mom, delightfully illustrated, appears early in the rhyming story to wake her baby with a kiss and a sip of cream. This is an enchanting board book that will appeal to babies and their grown-ups. The illustrations are perfect for this age group, and this sturdy book begs to be read over and over again. Wilson is the author of several other board books, including the popular Baby Cakes and a forthcoming companion book about Calico. Reviewer: Augusta Scattergood

    Absolutely adorable, Simple and sweet

This is a true child's book, simple and sweet. Not too wordy, adorable art renditions. If I had a child, this would be in my collection. So cute.
