A Call to the Action of Life

If you can take the time to listen carefully to the beautiful rendering of "Before the Parade passes By" by Barbara Streisand, you will soon have it as a theme for your life when you realise that inactivity is not the way to go. A truely touching soundtrack.

    Fan of the Film

I bought this CD because I loved the movie so much. I really like the quality that comes from the CD and it's overall a really good soundtrack. I am also a fan of Ms. Streisand so I wanted to add this to my collection.

    Not a BAD cd...

I have heard much worse movie formated musical soundtracks. But, this one is really not that bad. I know it was a flop, but, there are really some songs that Barbra Striesand shines in, such as "Before the Parade Passes By", and "So Long Dearie!", and the famous "Hello Dolly!". The cast picked maybe not that good, and I believe that for some reasons. Such, as Michael Crawford's voice. It maybe "nasal" sounding, but, in some parts, you can acually hear his "Phantom" like voice to be. Sad to say you can pick him out in any song with that voice. Though, he really shines in the song: "Elegance", which is maybe cause the girls seem to drown him out. Walter Matheau, I cringe when I hear his voice in "It Takes A Woman". His voice cannot handle any of the notes, and it's really sad. If this was rated out of 6, then 3 stars would be sufficant. Because half of it is fine, and the other half, is not. But, if you are really a fan of any of these people, or, you collect movie soundtracks, it would be an "ok" adition to your collection...
