This book really goes in depth to the life of Jimi Hendrix. It describes his personality, as well as telling, in detail, lots of his shows. Hendrix, Setting the Record Straight, is one of the best biographies I've ever read. There is a chapter for each of the albums he recorded. It goes in to all of the recording sessions Jimi did to make his records, and it tells about how the band was formed. One of the coolest things I found in this book was how the Experience chose their drummer by flipping a coin! Also, the influences of the band were shown in the biography, as well as his relationship with other famous bands at the time, such as a Beatles. Usually, in a biography, you get bored of reading about a person's life, but not in this book. It keeps you wanting to read by telling the interesting things about Hendrix's life. Overall, I totally recommend this book to any Hendrix fan, and also to anyone who wants to know about the great guitar player from the 60's.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This was by far the best book on Jimi Hendrix I have read.It gives a lot of information about the man who is the best guitarist ever. The people who wrote the book, John McDermott and Eddie Kramer[Jimi's longtime engineer and friend] really spent a lot of time and effort into writing this book.It gives you a more in depth look into Jimi's personality and his life instead of only just his music.I recommend this book to any Jimi Hendrix fan as well as anyone who is interested in one of the most interesting people ever to live. Was this review helpful?
