About the Author

Hey! I am a mom to three incredible kids, and the proud author of this story.
My youngest child was born with a rare skin disorder called Epidermolytic
Ichthyosis. He is the first in our family to have this disorder. Navigating this
journey has taught us strength, compassion, and the beauty of celebrating
differences.

I wrote this book to help children—and the grown-ups who love them—
understand that every kid is special despite feeling or looking different, and
that love and courage come in many forms. Through storytelling, I hope to
spread awareness, kindness, and a little more light into the world of rare
diseases.

With Love, Leah Traviss
