A man who will do anything to protect her.

Duncan can’t believe his best friend’s little sister has grown into such a wonderful bundle of curves. He is at first stunned by his reaction to her, but never one to be slow he starts putting the moves on her. It isn’t until he is completely seduced by her that he realizes that she is putting herself in danger to solve the old crime.

A killer who will do anything to possess her.

As both of them fall in love with each other, the stalking and danger escalates. Women close to Althea’s description are being found raped and murdered. Her Mothers Killer

Another great read by Melissa Schroeder. The who done it aspect of this one hooked me from the start. I found myself pondering all the characters as they were introduced just to see if I could figure out who the killer was. Everyone was suspect in my mind.
As always I completely fell for all the characters. Thea is a strong, take no crap heroine. Duncan is the brooding alpha male who will stop at nothing to keep his woman safe. Together these two turn up the heat and give us the erotic ride we all love.
Twists and turns abound in this one and I hope to see more books like this in the future. Maybe Thea's brother Jed will have his very own crime to solve.......

    I Also Recommend:

    Romantic suspense at its best!

Thea Warren has moved back home to solve her mother's murder. After going through a horrific car accident and a miserable divorce, she's ready to get back to the security of living in her small home town. She's being stalked by her mother's killer, and she's determined to solve the mystery of who killed her all those years ago. Duncan Perry is the town Sheriff, and best friends with Thea's brother. He's always looked at Thea as a younger sister, but when he sees her for the first time in years he's surprised and disturbed at the non-brotherly feelings she stirs in him. And when he discovers her reasons for moving back home, he's furious at the thought of her putting herself in danger.

I loved this book! It was incredibly suspenseful - my heart was still pounding after I finished reading it. Ms. Schroeder provided enough suspects that it kept me guessing, but not so many that it became ridiculous. And the cast of secondary characters was fabulous! I'm really hoping that Duncan's brother Chase will get his own story - he was a total charmer. Thea was great as a strong heroine who also knew when to accept help. She was practical without being cynical, and I loved how she put her ex-husband in his place when he tried to manipulate her into doing what he wanted her to. Duncan was definitely the sexy alpha hero, but he was also able to let Thea be strong and fight her own battles. The interaction between him and a couple of the other alpha male types was hilarious! Lots of sexual tension, and the sex itself was fabulous - erotic and emotional. The ending was enough of a surprise that I didn't feel cheated or as though my intelligence had been insulted. It all fit together really well and I'm looking forward to reading more from this author. This book was my idea of a perfect romantic suspense.
