    Full of action!

From page one Her Own Best Enemy is full of action. Ms. Justlin has a way with words that makes them jump off the page and grab you by the throat. There were many scenes that had my heart pounding just to turn around and have it ache for Grace. As a mother, the fear, desperation and determination she felt as she searched for her son rang so true.

The military aspect of the story was extremely well-written. Ms. Justlin brought the military to life for me. Keith's decisions, loyalty to protecting the citizens of the United States and his responsibilities to his rank all coincided with the way a soldier is trained to respond. I loved this. In some military romances authors tend to give allowances in regards to the way a soldier should respond to a situation, tweaking it to give it a romance vibe, but in the process taking away the reality of a soldier's duty to his station. I never felt this with Her Own Best Enemy and was a huge bonus for me.

I loved the sexual tension throughout the book. Forbidden sexual chemistry is always so hot and Ms. Justlin didn't let me down on that. I could see Grace and Keith growing closer throughout the book. Each dangerous situation made the attraction harder to fight. I loved watching Keith go from a hard-nosed soldier with a very dark past, to finally allowing someone to get close to him, while watching Grace struggle to make sense of her attraction to a man who caused her family heartache years before.

There was one scene/decision in the story I did not jive with. This scene is the only reason the story received a 3 star rating from me. I do give kudos to Ms. Justlin for inducing the emotions she was able to in me with this scene. Anytime strong emotions are brought to the surface that is great writing.

Despite my feelings toward this scene, I will be watching out for more of Ms. Justlin's books. Her detailed writing brings you right into the moment, and makes it so hard to put the book down.
