An unforgivable disappearance…

Four years ago, Jennie Brooks and Sheriff Brae Colton were engaged to be married—then Jennie disappeared without a word.

Leads to a mysterious reunion…

Brae has always hated Jennie for deserting him just as they were set to begin their life together. But when he finds her badly injured in a hit and run accident on a snowy mountain road, he can't deny the love he's never forgotten. He hopes for a second chance at love—until she regains consciousness with no memory of her identity, or what they once shared.

Where love holds the key to everything…

Despite their past, Jennie's still the woman Brae fell in love with in high school—the woman he's falling for again. The mysteries surrounding her disappearance, and her injuries, make him wonder if he can trust her, but when the bullets start flying, his first priority is to protect her and catch her would-be killer. If they can't find a way to restore her memory soon, they may both end up dead, any chance at love gone forever.

Meet the Author

A late bloomer, Margery didn't start writing until she found herself with an empty nest, some free time, and an old standard typewriter. The nest is still empty, but the typewriter has been replaced by a computer, and free time is a thing of the past. When she's not writing or traveling in search of the perfect setting for her next novel, you can usually find her wielding a pair of knitting needles or a pool cue.

A transplanted Scot, Margery now lives with her husband on a lake near Toronto, Canada.

A must read for lovers of Romantic Suspense stories. Rating:  4 1/2 stars I received a copy of this book from the publisher and the author in exchange for an honest review.  I was not compensated in any way. This book has nothing that is too graphic and the love scenes are very sensual.  Margery also doesn’t give away anything until the time is right – you get the right mix of romance and mystery.  It’s a great book to read while you cuddle up with a warm blanket by a nice warm fire – if you’re like me, no fire so I’ll have to break out the heater.    Our author keeps her readers interested from beginning to end.  You want to know that everything will work out for everyone concerned.  It will also have you wanting to know what other types of books she writes.  The only disappointment I had was that this was a quick read.  I was able to get it finished in two sittings.  So if you only have a short time, and you like a good romantic suspense story, this book should be at the top of your list.

This is the first book I've read by Margery Scott and I will read her again. Now with that being said this book was just ok. The story line was good. I liked the characters. I liked that the hero's name was Brae it's the first time I've ever even heard that name so that was fun. Jennie was a strong heroine and I thought Brae and her made a great couple. My problem with the book was it was slow and a little choppy. I did enjoy it though so that's why I rated it a 3*.

A great romance suspense read!  Definitely good suspense where I couldn’t figure out who the bad guy was – as he was trying to get her.  Great story line of a girl who lost her memory in a car accident as she was racing to her hometown to get away from the bad guy.  The town sheriff, her ex fiancé, finds her and, as she is recovering in the hospital, figures out someone is trying to kill her.  Good drama, suspense, danger and romance as Jennie realizes she has feelings for Brae all the while trying so hard to get her memory back.  I love all the secondary characters and storylines as they play out and fill in the main romance story.  I can see a few new stories that could come out of it!  Received an e-arc for an honest review.

Hmm, I’m not sure how to review this book without giving out spoilers.  I enjoyed the story even though I wanted to grab hold of Jennie and give her a good shake a time or two.  Anyone reading Her Rocky Mountain Guardian will fall in love with Brae as he falls for Jennie all over again despite their past.  I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a sweet romance with a hint of danger thrown in. I received an eARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.  What do you do when you wake up from an accident and can’t even remember your name; but you see a sexy stranger. This book caught my attention immediately starting with the cover (which I love covers), and then with the blurb. It is about a women who leaves with no word to anyone and then reappears only to end up being found in a car accident by the same man who has loved her almost his whole life. Unfortunately when she wakes up she does not know her name or anyone in the town she grew up in. Even though Jennie doesn’t remember who she is but she is willing to figure out who she is and why she has appeared in this town, the author has made her a strong and fearless character. While Brae has never really moved on from what happened four years ago, but now has to overcome his feelings to find out what the story is and why Jennie is possibly in danger. I immediately loved the name that the author decided to use for the main male character because it is not one of your normal names that you hear every day. And as you follow the story you are able to get more insight into the history between both of the main characters which takes you on an emotional roller coaster.  Can both Jennie and Brae learn to forgive what happened in the past and figure out what or who caused the accident? I especially love that within this little treasure you not only had mystery because a love story that had to re-find itself. When two people are meant to be and the universe decides to throw a wrench in everything what are they willing to do and overcome to find love again, Margery Scott definitely knows how to write a story. The author did not wait and drag the story she took it and got right into a great plot that flowed continuously in my opinion.  I recommend this story to those that enjoy a good suspense love story that are based in beautiful sceneries (and I do visualize my sceneries). And let’s not forget the twists that will keep you guessing!!~ Sue Ellen (Girlygirlbookreviews)

Jennie and Brae were soul mates or that's what Brae thought before Jennie left town without a word. Four years later and Brae, now the town sheriff, finds Jennie, inside her wrecked car, hanging on to life. When Jennie wakes up in the hospital, she has complete amnesia. All Brae wants to know is why she left, why she's back, and who's after her. Read this awesome book and go on the roller coaster ride with Brae and Jennie in the quest to get her memory back. I really envy the connection between the characters even when one of them doesn't remember the other. When they touch the sparks fly! There was love, friendship, forgiveness, anger, and mystery in this story. The character growth was smooth. The story line ran smooth from cover to cover. I look forward to reading more from this author

This was a love story I could not put down. Even thought the story line was a been there read that I still enjoyed the happy romantic ending. A feel good, clean reading of love lost and rekindled.

In Her Rocky Mountain Guardian by Margery Scott, Jennie wakes up in a hospital after a car accident in Eagle Ridge with complete amnesia. She has no idea who she is, what she was doing, or who this handsome man is at her bedside. Brae is the fiance Jennie left behind 4 years ago when she fled Eagle Ridge with no explanation. Brae thought she loved him, and he was picking up the pieces for a long time after she left. Now she is back, rescued by Brae from the icy confines of her car...but she doesn't know why she's back. It soon becomes obvious that someone is after Jennie...and with no memory and no place to go, Brae offers to let her stay in the guest room at the ranch house he shares with his sister (who used to be Jennie's best friend before she ran off). As the town sheriff, Brae is determined to protect her. As her former fiance, he still has a lot of feelings for Jennie. Jennie can't remember Brae, but her body seems to! There are so many unanswered questions for both Brae and Jennie as they explore the feelings they have for each other. There is also still danger...someone is determined to get what he thinks Jennie has at any cost. Will the stalker be found before he gets to Jennie again? Will she remember what she was running from in time?  I never really did understand Jennie and why she left like she did. Her explanation didn't really cut it for me, but Brae was ok with it and in the end that's what matters! I would have liked more detail about what went on in her life after she left to lead her to what was happening today. I felt like there were a lot of loose ends where Jennie was concerned. Brae is a very forgiving man if he's willing to risk his heart on Jennie again! Will Brae and Jennie pick up where they left off? Can they? When Jennie's memory eventually returns - what then? Will she be ready to run away again, leaving Brae and Eagle Ridge yet again with no looking back? I really liked the general plot of Her Rocky Mountain Guardian, from the setting to the characters. Margery gives us a fast paced, fun to read romantic suspense. It was easy to pick this book up and get lost in it...trying to figure everything out as Jennie tries to remember her life! I would have been happy to have the story longer if we could have had more details and depth to the characters, especially Jennie. I would recommend this to any romantic suspense reader.
