Not an avid reader of the romance genre, I found this delightful

Not an avid reader of the romance genre, I found this delightful romp through a friend’s recommendation. I consider most romances to be the popcorn of literature, and, I have to admit, I happily devoured every bite of this buttery, sultry snack. A successful romance needs two things 1) a heroine in which we can all see ourselves and 2) a handsome, mysterious stranger. Morgan delivers both of these in the form of a city-girl turned Nebraska corn farm owner and tall drink of water that is a mixture of country singer Alan Jackson and “True Blood’s” Eric Northman. In a turn-around of the usual damsel in distress theme, this love affair starts with single mom Hallie Evans coming to the rescue of Trent Armstrong when his Harley breaks down on a country road…in the middle of searing heat…with no people or water in sight. After she and her son nurse Trent back to health, they decide to adopt this stray stranger and… well, what unravels is a sweet, steamy coming together of hungry souls in need. Rather than bog the front of the tale down with backstory and character insight handed to you in the usual requisite awkward, expository fashion, Morgan lets the characters and their checkered pasts unfold slowly. The reader gets to know and fall for the characters in the same way they discover one another, in slow, lingering stares at their charm and in quick, painful glimpses of their battle scars. Although where the story goes is not much of a revelation, as it does stroll down a familiar path, I was more than happy to enjoy the ride with Morgan’s unique, refreshing voice. What you really want to know, I’m sure, is if it is hot. This one ranks pretty high on the Scoville scale, to be certain. Morgan does not shy away from overt physical descriptions, but she uses a gentle, loving lexicon. I was never embarrassed nor turned off by any of the language of the love scenes. The sweetness with which she handled the final love scene was as touching as it was titillating. I highly recommend you take this fast, sexy ride down Morgan’s country road.
