Here They Come: The Greatest Hits of the Monkees

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Ben Davies
The kings of sunshine pop are hardly the most consistent band ever. Nevertheless, a best of the Monkees deserves to be in every person's CD collection, and with such a vast array of compilations available choosing the right best-of can be something of a chore. Warner Music's attempt at a definitive CD, released in 1997, features all the obvious mega-hits, from "Theme From The Monkees" through "Pleasant Valley Sunday." The rest of the material making up this 25-track release is comprised of the band's lesser-known songs. By no means is it just the renowned tracks that stand out on Here They Come. In fact, this is one of the more unerring of the many Monkees compilations. ...

ock is waiting to grab your attention on the very next track. While its not the perfect Monkees compilation, this is perhaps as in depth as any casual fan would want. The band's feel-good pop
ock styling will please any true music fan, and Here They Come: The Greatest Hits of The Monkees is one of the finest releases to offer a window into their career.
